Oh this is rich. Not only does New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio want to give illegal immigrants de facto citizenship within his city limits, he’s going to ensure the program will never fall into the hands of his political enemies. Co-sponsor of the city’s proposal to provide municipal IDs, City Councilman Carlos Menchaca, told The New York Post, “In case a Tea Party Republican comes into office and says, ‘We want all of the data from all of the municipal ID programs in the country,’ we’re going to take the data.” That’s right. If a Rick Perry or a Ted Cruz gains the White House, on Dec. 31, 2016 the City of New York will start shredding documents and smashing hard drives. This is partisan politics at its worst. Come election season, de Blasio only has to tell his immigrant constituents that if they like their ID program then they can keep their ID program – provided they vote for the Democrat. In effect, de Blasio is causing a situation where the laws of the land change depending on who is in power. More…
