It’s a damning indictment of Obama’s leadership and his interactions with Congress. On Tuesday, the Senate considered Obama’s proposed budget. It didn’t go well, to say the least. National Review’s John Fund reports, “As for President Obama’s proposed federal budget, it looks as if almost no Democrat wants to be in the same room with it. Last night, the Senate voted 98 to 1 to reject a budget plan that had exactly the same tax and spending numbers as the blueprint the president proposed last month. The Obama plan still projects enormous federal deficits at the end of its ten-year budget window.” And this is unusual, because the president’s budget received no support in 2011 and 2012. That’s right: Not a single senator supported Barack Obama’s proposed management of federal funds. The lone supporter this time around was Sen. Tom Carper (D-DE), odd because even socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders opposed the bill. With Obama’s wishes out of the way, its time for Republicans to pass a budget grounded in sound fiscal policy. More…
