The Patriot Post® · Planned Parenthood Got $1.5 Billion of Your Tax Dollars

It was just last week when Harry Reid and his merry band of Senate Democrats filibustered an anti-human trafficking bill because it included the common Hyde Amendment, preventing federal funds associated with the bill from being used for abortion. Well, the Government Accountability Office just released a report indicating that taxpayers are on the hook for tons of money that pays for abortions. In other words, there’s a good reason for the Hyde Amendment. LifeNews notes, “The report found the Planned Parenthood abortion corporation and its affiliates received $344.5 million in federal funds and another $1.2 billion in funding from Medicaid (which includes a combination of federal and state funds) for a total of $1.5 billion over three years from federal programs.” Planned Parenthood is, of course, the nation’s largest abortion provider and the face of the abortion industry. They may say no federal funds were specifically used to pay for abortions, but that’s like saying the water at the deep end of the pool is completely separate from the shallow end. Hauling in so much of your tax money frees up Planned Parenthood’s resources in other areas.
