The Patriot Post® · NASCAR Collision With Indiana
There aren’t many bigger symbols of red-state culture than NASCAR, but the withering criticism of Indiana’s Religious Freedom Restoration Act is so intense even the racing giant felt compelled to respond. NASCAR’s Brett Jewkes, senior vice president and chief communications officer, released a statement Tuesday, saying, “NASCAR is disappointed by the recent legislation passed in Indiana. We will not embrace nor participate in exclusion or intolerance. We are committed to diversity and inclusion within our sport and therefore will continue to welcome all competitors and fans at our events in the state of Indiana and anywhere else we race.” Not that the statement says much – NASCAR isn’t going to wage a boycott, nor does it appear likely to cause any further trouble. But NASCAR obviously felt the need to make sure leftists didn’t run them into the wall, which says a lot about the intensity of the Left’s road rage. Will NASCAR fans react the way Duck Dynasty fans reacted when gender-confused protesters insisted A&E punish cast out Phil Robertson?
