Stanford University Medical School caved to the petition of LGBT activists on its campus who sought to silence sexuality conference with which they disagreed. Stanford Anscombe Society (SAS), a nonpartisan and nonreligious organization that advocates for traditional sexuality and marriage, had a contract with the university to use its facilities to host its second annual conference. But then the school faced pushback. Campus Reform reported, “According to the petition, addressed to Dean Lloyd Minor of Stanford’s Medical School, allowing SAS to hold its conference at previously contracted facilities at the Medical School ‘will certainly make our LGBT students feel threatened on their own campus.’” The petition continued, “If the conference is held on our campus, we will be protesting the event, and ask for the support of the administration in this opposition. We are preparing to rally the support of both local and national organizations.” Based off this threat, the school forced SAS to relocate across Stanford’s campus, lest its students become challenged or uncomfortable.
