The Patriot Post® · Even After Reform, VA Has Unacceptable Wait Times

We’re back where we started, a little worse for wear. The Associated Press reports that after the federal government dumped $16.3 billion on Veterans Affairs to get its act together, veterans are still subject to long wait times. The money has been spent, the VA secretary has been replaced, and for what? The AP reports, “A year after Americans recoiled at revelations that sick veterans were getting sicker while languishing on waiting lists, VA statistics show that the number of patients facing long waits has not declined, even after Congress gave the department an extra $16.3 billion last summer to shorten waits for care.” Whatever will the government do now? They spent the money, made administration changes. Now, they will try to tweak the VA – like clarifying the 40-mile rule – relying on small changes because they already made they made their large gesture. More…
