Oh sure, the likes of former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and his Everytown for Gun Safety are shrill. But in reality, the rabid anti-gun rhetoric may eventually catch up with the Democrat Party. See, moderates and Democrats own guns too. Gun owner and Democrat strategist Dave Saunders told The Washington Times, “Every time a Democrat starts talking about guns, they lose numbers because it is the Second Amendment. How many gun owners are there in America now? Look it up. There is a bunch of them, and anytime you start talking about guns, you are going to take from your numbers. So there is just less talk [about gun control] now than there has been in forever.” But Bloomberg is trying to nail down every Democrat politician on his or her position on the Second Amendment. Do they go against the party line and get pushed out, or do they tell their constituents and potential supporters that yes, they believe the government should take away their right to self-defense.
