You know how the story goes: There’s a war on women, because members of the fairer sex typically make just 77 cents to every dollar that men make. It’s a claim that’s been thoroughly and assiduously discredited, but leftists keep wringing this talking point out for all its political leverage. So when will someone speak up about the growing income disparity among America’s top CEOs — that is, females earning more than males? According to USA Today, though there are fewer of them, women CEOs average millions more in annual salaries compared to men: “So far, 21 of the 22 current female CEOs in the Standard & Poor’s 500 have reported their latest compensation … and they were paid an average of $18.8 million during their latest fiscal years, according to a USA TODAY analysis of data from S&P Capital IQ and Bespoke Investment Group. That far exceeds the average $12.7 million paid to the 455 current male CEOs in the S&P 500 that have reported compensation data for the same time period.”

Additionally, “The compensation awarded to female CEOs, on average, also outstrips the $14.3 million average paid to all the CEOs of the 100 largest publicly held companies that had reported through early April, according to pay tracker Equilar and compensation consultant Towers Watson.” Of course, the Left will argue that this isn’t a fair statistic because the number of male CEOs far outnumber the number of females. True, but that has far more to do with life choices than access to advancement.
