In a practice the word “horrific” cannot even begin to describe, an undercover video recently exposed Deborah Nucatola, senior director of medical services at Planned Parenthood, cavalierly describing harvesting hearts, lungs, legs and even heads from unborn babies. The only thing worse than the admission is that the abortion giant may be able to frame the gruesome practice as legal — and get away with it.

The stomach-churning footage shows Nucatola recounting the market demand for baby body parts and how successfully Planned Parenthood’s doctors have been at meeting that demand. “We’ve been very good at getting heart, lung, liver,” she boasted, “so I’m not gonna crush that part, I’m gonna basically crush below, I’m gonna crush above, and I’m gonna see if I can get it all intact.”

Everything intact except the baby’s life.

She went on, “People wanted lungs. … Some people want lower extremities, too, which, that’s simple. That’s easy. I don’t know what they’re doing with it. I guess if they want muscle…”

We suspect Nucatola is describing dismemberment abortions, in which the unborn baby is alive and can feel pain as his or her tiny limbs are ripped away from the body. In fact, just like any adult human with a severed limb, unborn babies whose limbs are torn away often bleed to death. Dismemberment abortions are legal in nearly all states.

According to journalist Denise McAllister, so, too, is harvesting the organs of dismembered babies. McAllister notes that, while U.S. law prohibits buying human organs for “human transplantation,” human tissue and organs can be used for research “as long as women donated the material following their decision to have an abortion,” and as long as the organs aren’t sold for profit.

While Planned Parenthood, naturally, claims adherence to both these parameters, evidence shows otherwise.

Planned Parenthood’s consent form says there will be no changes in timing or method of an abortion to get blood or tissue, but Nucatola admits (see pages 11-13) she routinely changes the abortion method to get the desired organ or body part. She even describes what sounds like partial-birth abortion — outlawed federally in 2003 — to harvest intact heads.

Furthermore, Planned Parenthood admits money changes hands in exchange for body parts — a clear violation of the law.

In truth, legality is the lesser problem when we stop and realize that Planned Parenthood and its cheerleaders are defending brutally slaughtering unborn babies and selling them off, piece by piece.

It’s a slap to any semblance of humanity that some pro-abortion legislators are actually defending Planned Parenthood. Democrat Rep. Barbara Lee of California, who admitted she hadn’t even watched the damning video, nevertheless decried it: “They’ve been attacking Planned Parenthood for years. They’ve been calling for investigations for years. And they surface [sic] videos and they come on the attack … and I think it’s outrageous.”

No, Ms. Lee. Outrageous is that American taxpayers are funding Planned Parenthood to the tune of more than $500 million per year. Outrageous is that Planned Parenthood calls its organ trafficking industry a “humanitarian undertaking.” Outrageous is that Planned Parenthood is playing the victim of “attacks” while wielding forceps stained with the unborn blood of millions.

Of course, this isn’t the first time Planned Parenthood has been caught breaking the law. For years, Live Action has exposed how the abortion giant routinely covers up statutory rape, ignores parental consent requirements and turns a blind eye to sex trafficking of minors.

In the wake of the latest video, Congress has finally launched an investigation into Planned Parenthood. Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ), one of the unborns’ strongest defenders in the House, said Planned Parenthood’s practices may violate numerous laws, including the ban on partial-birth abortion and the Born Alive Infant Protection Act.

In addition to calling for relevant House committees to investigate, House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) called on Barack Obama as well as Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia Burwell to “denounce and stop these gruesome practices.”

That press conference has yet to happen.

When Kermit Gosnell’s house of horrors was shut down and Gosnell convicted, abortion advocates tried to paint him as the lone-wolf exception to safe, pleasant, mainstream abortions. That doesn’t appear to be so.

The whitewash has been coming off the abortion industry for a long time, and pouring through is the blood of nearly 60 million babies, crying for justice.
