Most Americans insured through ObamaCare exchanges aren’t thrilled with the product they’re being forced to buy. The Deloitte Center for Health Solutions 2015 Survey of US Health Care Consumers found “only 30 percent of all surveyed HIX [public health insurance exchanges] enrollees say they are satisfied with their current plan, which is significantly lower than other insured cohorts.” (For those insured through their employer along with Medicaid and Medicare recipients, that number is 42%, 48% and 58%, respectively.) Despite the substantial federal subsidies available, financial concerns are still mostly to blame. The survey adds that a mere “24% OF HIX enrollees are confident they can get affordable care when they need it,” while just “16% … feel financially prepared to handle their future health care costs.” ObamaCare made obtaining insurance easier, but it didn’t necessarily make visiting the doctor any cheaper. And while some may enjoy the commodities that accompanied health care reform, like “free” birth control, others are discovering the flip side of the coin: High deductibles make it feel as if ObamaCare doesn’t cover anything. Deductibles that were inflated thanks in part to all the goodies Democrats insisted taxpayers cover.
