For months, we’ve argued that Hillary Clinton broke law to operate an email account on a home-brewed sever. But don’t take our word for it, as there are two more indications that what she created could cause a world of legal pain. First, it turns out that Clinton’s chief of staff Cheryl Mills, hired from the Clinton Foundation, sent two emails containing classified information to her boss’ “nonprofit.” Hot Air’s Ed Morrissey explains the significance: “Until now, we have seen evidence of gross negligence in communications of classified information between State Department officials on an unsecured system known to have been penetrated by outsiders at least once, and whose data has been in unsecured and unauthorized hands. These two e-mails show a deliberate communication of classified information to someone fully outside the government, not just within the State Department’s sphere of operations.” Clinton didn’t just play fast and loose with state secrets, but that is proof those secrets left the control of the government. Several weeks ago, the FBI seized four servers from the State Department in connection to its investigation of Clinton’s email practices. It was looking for how top-secret information — those nuggets that “could be expected to cause exceptionally grave damage to the national security” — went from the State Department’s secure network to Clinton’s server. Meanwhile Clinton goes on the defensive, arguing that the Benghazi committee, which discovered the server, was formed against her to damage her politically. But this is no longer political. The FBI is involved.
