Former decathlon champion Bruce Jenner may have done more than change his own gender. Supporters of his transition to “Caitlyn” even went back to change his records in Wikipedia, claiming that “she” won Olympic gold. Soon, such changes won’t be necessary even for the politically correct. That’s because the Olympic Committee has changed the rules to allow men to complete as women and vice versa — even without undergoing sex reassignment surgery. According to the Associated Press, “Under the previous IOC guidelines, approved in 2003, athletes who transitioned from male to female or vice versa were required to have reassignment surgery followed by at least two years of hormone therapy in order to be eligible to compete. Now, surgery will no longer be required, with female-to-male transgender athletes eligible to take part in men’s competitions ‘without restriction.’” That said, male-to-female converts have more stringent requirements (war on trans-women?), we suppose in a half-hearted effort to protect female athletes from a disadvantage obvious even to the social engineers. In any case, “progressives” who idealize Science™ continue to dispense with it when it suits their purposes.
