Chicago is a model city of Democrat governance, and when the hot water comes, the city’s politicians would rather point to the fruits of their failed policies rather than own up to their leadership mistakes. There is evidence that points to the fact that Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel quickly approved a $5 million settlement to keep the dashcam footage of Chicago police killing Laquan McDonald under wraps until Emanuel won his re-election — similar to how his friend Hillary Clinton pushed the theory that a YouTube video caused the Benghazi attack. Now, an investigation by DNAinfo discovers that up to 80% of the cameras on the dash of police vehicles record no sound. Police officials blamed this on those that tread that thin blue line, saying the police officers enforcing the city’s laws were responsible for disabling the audio equipment. As Hot Air’s Taylor Millard wonders perhaps it’s not the police officers’ fault, but rather faulty equipment or bad training. Or perhaps cops are keenly aware of the hostile attitude toward them, largely fostered by Obama and Company, and thus it’s understandable — if still unacceptable — for the police to mess with their recording equipment. Regardless, it’s easy for the city’s leaders to pass the buck further down the ranks, rather than own up to their mistakes.
