The Patriot Post® · MSNBC to Melissa Harris-Perry: Adios
Melissa Harris-Perry, a professor at Wake Forest University, will no longer host her own show on MSNBC, which comes as a bitter disappointment to the few people who actually watch the network. The Washington Post reports that “MSNBC has parted ways with host Melissa Harris-Perry after she complained about preemptions of her weekend program and implied that there was a racial aspect to the cable-news network’s treatment, insiders at MSNBC said.” While boycotting her own show over the weekend, Harris-Perry wrote that she is “not a token, mammy or little brown bobble head. I am not owned by [NBC] or MSNBC.”
This coming from the person who used any and every opportunity on her show to play the “racism!” and “sexism!” card. Viewers will now be spared from listening to the race hustler sputter complete nonsense. Here are just a few of the doozies:
“I have feelings, good, bad and otherwise, about Star Wars. … Like the part where [Darth Vader] was totally a black guy whose name basically was James Earl Jones … [and] while he was black, he was terrible and bad and awful and used to cut off white men’s hands, and didn’t, you know, actually claim his son. But as soon as he claims his son and goes over to the good, he takes off his mask and he is white. Yes, I have many, many feelings about that.”
“I actually think Mr. Ryan is a great choice for [House Speaker]. But I want us to be super careful when we use the language ‘hard worker,’ because I actually keep an image of folks working in cotton fields on my office wall, because it is a reminder about what hard work looks like.”
And rest assured, viewers won’t have to see her sporting tampon earrings again, either.
Good for MSNBC for saying “enough.” It’s the first thing the network has gotten right in quite some time — perhaps ever.
