The Patriot Post® · Government Has the Power to Break Into Apple Products
Contrary to its claims that it was only going to crack one Apple iPhone just one time, the federal government is taking the hack it learned from trying to break into the phone belonging to the San Bernardino terrorist and applying it to other cases. Last week, the FBI agreed to help break a phone for a murder case in Arkansas. The FBI never did carry out its suit against Apple Inc. It dropped the legal action after a third party came forward and disclosed a way to break into the phone. “The FBI can now get into any Apple device it wants to,” wrote Hot Air’s Taylor Millard. “This means the rest of the government (NSA, CIA, DEA, etc) can too. So what happens when the government puts someone like you or me on the terrorist watch list and decides to start surveillance?” Furthermore, why should we trust a government that broke its word in a matter of months? It was only going to be this one phone, it said. It had no other recourse but to go to Apple, it claimed. How do we know it will uphold due process and Rule of Law with this newfound information?
