With the New York primary less than two weeks away, the Democrat candidates are trying to prove their New York bona fides by doing New York things, like riding the subway. The New York primary has become a big deal in the campaign, what with Sanders chipping away at Clinton’s lead. Hillary adopted New York as her home state; Bernie was born there. If she loses it, well, it spells serious trouble for her presidential “inevitability.” Which brought her to the subway.

Clinton admitted that she hasn’t driven a car in years, so you’d think she’d know how to use public transportation like any other seasoned New Yorker. But when it came to swiping her Metrocard, Clinton couldn’t make it past the turnstile. She tried five times in front of a gaggle of journalists before she could get through. Tourist.

The Leftmedia spun Clinton’s awkward subway trouble to say she was just like us! Her Metrocard is temperamental too! But in typical Clinton fashion, the Democrat frontrunner broke subway rules and got away with it. The Metropolitican Transportation Authority arrests buskers who perform in subway cars — and the rule is written so that campaigning is forbidden, too. But there’s Clinton, shaking hands and being introduced as the next president.

A few days earlier, Socialist Bernie Sanders told the New York Daily News that he knows “how to ride the subways. I’ve been on them once or twice.” When the Daily News pressed, asking him just how someone would perform such a feat, “You get a token and you get in,” Sanders replied. “Wrong,” said Daily News. The NYC subway hasn’t been using tokens since 2003. In both instances, Democrat candidates demonstrated, despite all their hot air about fighting for the middle class and the 99%, they are so elite and out of touch they can’t perform a basic function 8.4 million New Yorkers manage on a regular basis.
