The Patriot Post® · Clinton: Oh, That Classified Email

It was April 2012. The president of Malawi had died, and the country’s first female president, Joyce Banda, assumed office. Hillary Clinton was about to pick up the phone and perform a bit of statecraft. The emails newly released by the State Department show Clinton’s aides scheduling the call, sending Clinton a memo to prepare for the conversation — and breaking the law by sending information marked classified through an unsecured channel.

As Fox News reports, this email exchange in question contains “portion marking,” a system used by the government to mark certain passages in a document classified. The email was sent directly to Clinton, even though she repeatedly insisted that she never handled classified information over her private sever.

“© Purpose of Call: to offer condolences on the passing of President Mukharika and congratulate President Banda on her recent swearing in,” the email read. The “©” designated that the information was confidential. The rest of the email after the sentence was blocked out, too sensitive for public release.

Just last week, Clinton told Fox News’ Bret Baier, “The fact is that nothing I sent or received was marked classified and nothing has been demonstrated to contradict that.” That “©” is pretty damning, and there are other emails that contain similar markings.

In January, Clinton insisted, “I never sent or received any material marked ‘classified.’ I cannot control what the Republicans leak and what they are contending.” But the facts speak for themselves — no right-wing conspiracy.

Last year, Clinton swore: “The facts are pretty clear: I did not send or receive anything that was classified at the time.” The facts, however, show that Clinton knowingly broke the law, and she lied about it. The only question now is if the Obama Department of “Justice” will move ahead and indict the presidential candidate after Barack Obama has endorsed her. Anyone want to place a bet?
