Hillary Clinton, Democrats and their reliable Leftmedia lapdogs are attempting to label Donald Trump an anti-Semite because he tweeted a picture of Clinton that included a stack of cash, the words “most corrupt candidate ever” — and a six-pointed star.
Trump’s campaign deleted the tweet, but he later regretted doing so. “Should have left it up,” he said. Trump insisted in a statement Monday, “These false attacks by Hillary Clinton trying to link the Star of David with a basic star, often used by sheriffs who deal with criminals and criminal behavior … with anti-Semitism is ridiculous.”
The Leftmedia insisted otherwise, asserting the image had been previously posted on a white supremacist message board, leaving out the obvious qualification that images posted in cyberspace end up in numerous locations. Trump campaign’s social media director, Daniel Scavino, explained they neither created the image, nor sourced it from an anti-Semitic site. “It was lifted from an anti-Hillary Twitter user where countless images appear,” he said. “The sheriff’s badge — which is available under Microsoft’s ‘shapes’ — fit with the theme of corrupt Hillary and that is why I selected it.”
American Spectator’s Jeffrey Lord, who insists this “is exactly how the game works,” explains six-pointed stars have a long history in American law enforcement, and are still used today. He further points out some rather inconvenient facts the media and the Clinton campaign have to ignore in order to keep their narrative afloat: Trump’s daughter, Ivanka, his son-in-law, and his grandchildren are all Jewish, and Trump was the Grand Marshal for New York’s Israel Day parade.
Moreover as far back as 1997, Trump purchased his Mar-a-Largo estate in Palm Beach, Florida, and turned it into a club that welcomed Jews to join — in a town where other clubs had long barred Jews and blacks from such memberships. Trump has also pledged he would move the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, and that the latter city should be recognized as the capital of Israel.
If making Jerusalem Israel’s capital has a familiar ring, maybe it’s because delegates on the floor of the 2012 Democratic National Convention clearly fell short of the two-thirds voice vote required to restore that idea and a reference to “God” to the party’s platform. Here is the video of a real anti-Semitic moment, where an embarrassed convention chairman, then-Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, is forced to ask for that vote of approval three times. It was clear he never got it, but Villaraigosa deliberately ignored the nay votes and passed the motion anyway.
For a number of Democrats, little has changed. At the end of June, the same Democratic Platform Drafting Committee that unanimously voted for the Justice Department to criminalize dissent with regard to global warming, was far less enthusiastic about defeating an amendment from pollster and “Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions” (BDS) proponent James Zogby. Giving Democrat presidential candidate Bernie Sanders credit for helping him craft the language, Zogby called for “an end to [Israel’s] occupation and illegal settlements” of Palestinian territory, and urged an international effort be undertaken to rebuild Gaza.
Powerline’s John Hinderaker insists that calling Sanders, who is Jewish, on his anti-Semitism is “counterintuitive.” No, it isn’t. As the Jerusalem Post explains, “the Jewish people have seen fellow Jews turn against their own people” throughout the course of history. Thus it is no surprise that along with Zogby, Sanders also picked Cornel West, another BDS backer and Israel basher, to help write the Democrat Party platform. Or that Sanders himself asserted Israel killed “over 10,000 innocent people” in their last conflict with Gaza, a number four times higher than assessments made by Hamas, a terror group whose founding charter calls for the annihilation of the Jewish State.
And if one thinks Clinton is any better, think again. While she calls for a “two-state” solution to the current impasse, one of her closest aides, Huma Abedin, comes from a family with ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. Abedin herself was an assistant editor of the Journal of Muslim Minority Affairs, a pro-Islamic supremacy magazine. Clinton generated a storm of criticism as first lady when she was photographed kissing PLO thug Yasser Arafat’s wife, Suha, and dismissing Suha’s assertion that Israel was using poison gas to pollute the West Bank’s water and land with the statement that those words “were not as harsh in the English translation that she heard.”
Moreover, one of Clinton’s closest confidants is Sidney Blumenthal. As emails that came to light during the FBI’s investigation indicate, Rabbi Shmuley Boteach writes that Blumenthal’s son Max “is quite simply one of the most biased, anti-Semitic, terrorist-defending, Israel-has-no-right-to-exist haters out there.” Boteach reveals Sidney Blumenthal “promoted Max’s anti-Semitic writings to Ms. Clinton when she was Secretary of State of the United States,” and further notes that Clinton sent Sidney emails praising Max’s work. Here are some of those emails — the ones you never heard a word about from the same Leftmedia trying to frame Trump as an anti-Semite.
Nor did that Leftmedia publish Max Blumenthal’s tweet following the death of Holocaust survivor, and 1986 Nobel Peace Prize winner, Elie Wiesel. Max asserted that Weisel “went from a victim of war crimes to a supporter of those who commit them. He did more harm than good and should not be honored.” In another tweet, he sunk even lower. “Elie Wiesel is dead. He spent his last years inciting hatred, defending apartheid & palling around with fascists.” Blumenthal also insisted Weisel supported Jewish settlers “ethnically cleansing” Palestinians in East Jerusalem.
Tuesday, Clinton’s campaign finally rejected Max’s tweets. Once again, Hillary has apparently “evolved.”
“It is up to centrist Democrats, who still represent a majority of the party … to ensure that support for Israel remains a point of bipartisan consensus,” writes Alan Dershowitz.
Centrist Democrats? That’s a contradiction in terms for a party with a number of members whose support for Israel is suspect at best, one that invariably benefits from an utterly corrupt media willing to do the bidding of a thoroughly corrupt Democrat candidate for president. Hillary Clinton will never endure even remotely the same level of scrutiny to which Donald Trump will be regularly subjected.
“This would be idiocy walking — and doubtless it is for some,” Lord writes about the charges leveled against Trump. “But make no mistake. Some of this bile is a deliberate attempt to inject anti-Semitism into the presidential campaign — manipulating the issue in a fashion that makes cause to wonder if at least some of these critics are serious if subtle and sly anti-Semites themselves.” Not quite. Demagogues determined to repeat a lie often enough that it becomes the truth are not the least bit subtle.
