The Times’ report on EV-D68 is extremely late to the party. In two separate articles published in October and November of 2014, The Patriot Post sounded the alarm about the outbreak of this devastating virus that was the likely cause of paralyzed and dead American children — even as the mainstream media conspicuously ignored the story.
In the space of that single month in 2014, five fatalities and 15 cases of paralysis-like symptoms attributed to EV-D68 became nine deaths and more than 50 children afflicted with full or partial paralysis that may be permanent. As the LA Times reveals, the “phenomenon” by which EV-D68 evolves from a cold-causing virus to one that paralyzes is being called acute flaccid myelitis (AFM) — as in “acute flaccid” for sudden and total paralysis, and “myelitis” for the injury to the gray matter part of the spinal cord that involves muscle movement. It was diagnosed in 120 children in 34 states between August 2014 and January 2015.
That’s according to the Oxford Journal. According to Natural News, “The CDC and various state public health laboratories confirmed more than 1,100 cases of EV-D68 in 49 states and the District of Columbia — and almost all of these cases were in children.”
The infuriating aspect of the story? Again, it is necessary to go back to a Daily Caller article published in 2014 to discover the answer: “The deadly EV-D68 enterovirus epidemic, which struck thousands of kids this fall, was likely propelled through America by President Barack Obama’s decision to allow tens of thousands of Central Americans across the Texas border, according to a growing body of genetic and statistical evidence.”
The Caller further explained scientists would have to do genetic analysis to confirm or disprove the link, but that government researchers, health experts and academics they contacted “refused to comment, or else urged self-censorship” when pressed for data that would exonerate the administration’s astoundingly careless dispersal of tens of thousands of Unaccompanied Alien Children (UACs) to all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
How careless? In 2014, while the then record-setting border “surge” was occurring, Dr. Elizabeth Lee Vliet, a preventive medicine physician and former Director of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, revealed the CDC was violating its own guidelines and allowing illegals into the nation who tested positive for the same diseases that would keep law-abiding immigrants out. “Legal immigrants are required to pay for medical exams and screening tests conducted by approved physicians before they arrive here,” Vliet explained. “They’re not arriving in the U.S. carrying diseases, and then being dispersed into cities across the nation.”
Nonetheless, the CDC denied EV-D68’s link to illegals, even though a study published on the agency’s own website revealed it “is one of the most rarely reported serotypes, with only 26 reports throughout the 36-year study period (1970 through 2006).”
How problematic was that denial? In 2014 alone, 538 people in 47 states were infected, with the Caller revealing “the epidemic included multiple strains of the virus” that appeared “simultaneously in multiple independent locations.”
Conservative Treehouse investigative reporter Sundance attempted to correlate those multiple independent locations with the location of UAC shelters. In doing so he revealed another deplorable practice undertaken by “the most transparent administration in history.” As he reported, “Though the U.S. government is keeping secret the locations of the illegal immigrant children, there are significant numbers of them in both cities in which the current outbreak was first identified, Kansas City, Missouri and Chicago, Illinois, according to local advocates and press reports.”
Is there a better testament to the level of mainstream media corruption than their refusal to investigate secret locations of illegal alien children who might pose a deadly threat to millions of unsuspecting and vulnerable American children?
“Many suspect that enterovirus D-68 — which gave hundreds of people a severe cold in 2014 — also caused the paralysis outbreak that year,” the LA Times states. “Some of the paralyzed children had enterovirus D-68 in their system, and researchers have found that injecting mice with enterovirus D-68 paralyzes them. But to confirm the link, doctors need to find enterovirus D-68 in the paralyzed children’s cerebrospinal fluid, to show that the virus traveled to the spinal cord and created the injury there — which they haven’t yet.”
They’re getting closer. “For the first time, researchers also discovered EV-D68 B1 in a blood sample taken from a child with acute paralytic illness,” Natural News revealed. “And many others with AFM were also determined to have EV-D68 B1 in their respiratory secretions, though no EV-D68 B1 was found in any of the patients’ cerebrospinal fluid. This isn’t surprising, say researchers, because polio virus is generally extremely difficult to detect in cerebrospinal fluid.”
It’s even more difficult to detect when government threatens potential whistleblowing doctors and nurses with retaliation. In 2014, Fox News revealed medical professionals working at a Lackland Air Force Base refugee camp in San Antonio were threatened with arrest if they divulged information about the “contagion threat” there. “We have so many kids coming in that there was no way to control all of the sickness — all this stuff coming into the country,” a nurse told reporter Todd Starnes.
The flow of illegals who could be bringing such “stuff” into America has become a tsunami. “I know we had a crisis situation in 2014, but this has by far surpassed that,” said an ICE agent who spoke on condition of anonymity. And not just illegals from Latin America. “An increasing number of people from far-flung corners of the world quietly have tried to sneak into the United States among the hundreds of thousands of other, mostly Latin American migrants caught at the Mexican border in the last year, according to arrest data from the Homeland Security Department,” reports the Associated Press.
How many of them were carrying not just EV-D68 but a host of other diseases previously eradicated in America?
If Americans elect Hillary Clinton and continue empowering the cabal of amnesty-minded Democrats and their business-enabling Republican allies, we will never know. Note that much of the information provided here is two years old. That’s no accident. Nothing about providing the public with accurate, up-to-date information on potentially devastating illnesses carried by illegals accrues to the interests of those dedicated to the globalist-driven open borders agenda. “You kind of hold your breath and hope it doesn’t get worse,” Dr. Van Haren states.
Wrong. One votes for politicians who still believe in national sovereignty, and an immigration process that benefits the nation, not immigrants themselves. One’s life — literally — might depend on it.
