Last week, Aashiq Hammad, an Islamist, was formally indicted on 22 counts for an ideologically inspired terrorist attack on airport passengers in Ft. Lauderdale on Jan. 6. His real name is Esteban Santiago, “a Muslim convert who years before joining the U.S. Army took on an Islamic name,” according to a recent Judicial Watch report, which goes on to note that Santiago “downloaded terrorist propaganda and recorded Islamic religious music online.”

Unsurprisingly, this bombshell fell on deaf ears in the mainstream media. “This is pertinent information that the Obama administration apparently wants to keep quiet,” JW said at the time, and the Leftmedia happily obliged by divulging as little information as possible, or nothing at all. Just how obvious is it that leftists are trying to keep Santiago’s motives undercover? A new Judicial Watch report says it all:

“A grand jury in south Florida just indicted the Ft. Lauderdale Airport shooter, but the feds are still in cover-up mode so terrorism isn’t even mentioned [even] though an FBI agent testified in court that the attack was carried out on behalf of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). … Instead, it only charges Santiago with five counts of causing death at an international airport, six counts of causing serious bodily injury at an international airport, five counts of causing death during a crime of violence and six counts of using a firearm during a crime of violence.”

In contrast, the world was lightning quick to label Sunday night’s attack on a Canadian mosque as terrorism. For example, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau stated, “We condemn this terrorist attack on Muslims in a center of worship and refuge.” And Reuters, which described the attack as “Islamophobia,” says, “A Canadian federal Liberal legislator, Greg Fergus, tweeted: ‘This is an act of terrorism — the result of years of demonizing Muslims. Words matter and hateful speeches have consequences!’”

We should mention that the details are still fuzzy. But one thing is clear: The world is fighting two wars — one against terrorism, and the other against politically correct narratives. It’s nearly impossible to take leftists who deride Donald Trump’s crackdown on foreigners seriously when they talk about acts of terror only when it’s politically advantageous to.
