The Patriot Post® · Iran's Saber-Rattling
It was announced on Monday that Iran had conducted a ballistic missile test in defiance of UN resolution 2231. The resolution, which was passed in 2015, bars Iran from conducting ballistic missile tests for eight years. Iran, finding itself on Donald Trump’s travel blacklist due to terror connections, has confirm that it did conducted the test, but insists it is not in breach of the nuclear deal. Instead, Iran has warned Trump against using the matter “as a pretext to create new tensions.” This would mark the second time Iran has run afoul of the resolution.
The mullahs, playing a little tit-for-tat, announced that they would stop issuing visas to Americans, an almost laughably minor issue considering fewer than 5,000 traveled to Iran last year. The question is, how will Trump respond to Iran’s provocation? Clearly, Iran is testing Trump, seeking to determine just what kind of man it will be dealing with these next four years or longer. Iran had it easy under Barack Obama; will it find the sledding as easy under Trump? Not likely.
