Your Tax Dollars at Work: More Abortions, Fewer Women
Planned Parenthood's annual report once again belies the abortion mill's claims to be providing health care.
Planned Parenthood should give “comedienne” Kathy Griffin a big hug. Her vulgar stunt displaying a blood-soaked and severed mannequin head of President Donald Trump thoroughly displaced the delayed annual report of the world’s abortuary on the same day.
Across the political spectrum, there was an authentic and near-universal condemnation of Griffin’s gruesome display — and rightly so. It’s shameful, however, that we can’t muster the same level of repugnance toward the billion-dollar baby-killing, baby-body-part-selling-industry.
Just days ago, a new video emerged from the Center for Medical Progress, a group of pro-lifers who bravely penetrated the façade of Planned Parenthood and exposed its baby-parts-for-profit racket. The video was taken during the 2014 and 2015 National Abortion Federation conventions, and it exposed some vile and visceral discussion (reader be warned). Dr. Lisa Harris, “medical” director of Michigan’s Planned Parenthood, candidly spoke of the “violence” — her word — involved in some abortions, offering the example of babies’ “heads that get stuck that we can’t get out.” Dr. Ann Schutt-Aine, director of abortion services at Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast addressed the practice of forcibly holding a baby in the womb to finish the grisly procedure while avoiding an illegal partial-birth abortion, where all but the head is outside the mother’s body: “I might ask for a second set of forceps to hold the body at the cervix, and pull off a leg or two so it’s not [partial-birth abortion].”
And your tax dollars are funding this grisly killing.
While Planned Parenthood and others in the cult-like abortion-is-women’s-health movement continue to believe and preach that the organization provides health care services to females, the stunning 2015-2016 report was inexplicably delayed by at least six months for public view. This report is the latest definitive proof that Planned Parenthood makes its profits and provides as its core service the “convenience” of infanticide.
The report records that the number of women served during 2015-16 dropped by 100,000 from the previous year. Yet, the organization performed more abortions with fewer patrons during the same timeframe — 328,348 abortions versus 323,999. Despite emphatic and continuous claims that Planned Parenthood provides a wide variety of women’s health care services, the annual report recorded reductions in breast examinations, fewer HPV vaccinations, fewer colposcopy and cryotherapy procedures and, nope, still no — as in zero — mammographies.
The most dramatic decline in services offered was in prenatal care, with 8,000 fewer women and their unborn babies receiving prenatal services in a 12-month period. In 2014-15, Planned Parenthood documented 17,419 prenatal services offered — a sharp contrast to the 9,419 provided in 2015-16.
This legalized infanticide provided by Planned Parenthood has existed since October 1916. And since no mention of Planned Parenthood’s founding would be complete without quoting its founder, Margaret Sanger, here’s a reminder of the eugenics-based philosophy undergirding the operation: Her blatant racism was captured in “Woman’s Body, Woman’s Right,” in which she laid out a plan to use “colored ministers” to convince blacks that delivering birth control to their communities was a good idea. “The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal,” she wrote. “We don’t want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population, and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members.”
Now, more than a century later — with advances in birth control and science that more fully informs us about the stages of infant development in the womb — complete with 3D and 4D ultrasound technologies — the lie of abortion has been laid bare. And it must end.
The overwhelming use of abortion to prevent birth is most often out of convenience to one or both parents. Saving the mother’s life, and cases of rape or incest, each account for single-digit percentages.
Abortion is big business with massive amounts of tax dollars involved. In its operational year ending June 2015, Planned Parenthood received $553,700,000 in “government health services grants and reimbursements,” according to The Daily Signal. The most recent report for year ending June 2016 records an increase of taxpayer funding to $554,600,000.
It is gross intellectual dishonesty to claim that an abortion is contraception — or an agent that counters conception. Abortion terminates a living being. A child in the womb is not simply part of a woman’s body; an unborn child is a unique and separate being that is hosted in the mother until birth as a dependent.
To Republicans in Congress: President Donald Trump has presented his budget. It eliminates all federal funding and denies access to Title X grants and reimbursement via Medicaid for Planned Parenthood. Having been elected to, among other things, control the constitutional power of the purse, it’s now your move. And there really are no more excuses.
The science proves beyond any doubt that abortion is the termination of life, not just the prevention of birth. The Constitution does not enumerate any power of the government to fund such services. This is your moment, Congress. Defund Planned Parenthood. The American taxpayer cannot be complicit in this ongoing slaughter of unborn babies.
