Britain has endured two terror attacks in two weeks, and three in three months. And while the names have changed, the progressive denialist game remains the same.

People were murdered in Manchester. People were murdered in London. In both cases, the attackers were known quantities prior to the attacks. In fact, one of the alleged London attackers was actually featured in a UK documentary called “The Jihadis Next Door.” Thus, as it was after the Manchester attack, the public has once again been told security services are facing serious questions about why they failed to connect the proverbial dots. Yet there’s only one question that really matters:

What’s the point of having any security at all when political correctness renders it utterly impotent?

Same goes with the slogan “see something, say something.” Really? And get labeled “Islamophobic” by the doyens of political correctness? Incredibly, the British have updated this vapid nonsense, and added a dollop of surrenderism to mix. People are now being urged by police to “run, hide, tell” when terrorists strike again. And they will strike again — after which the runners and hiders may emerged unscathed if they’re lucky, while the “tellers” will once again be castigated for failing to embrace diversity and/or succumbing to hate.

Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

After the Manchester attack, British Prime Minister Theresa May predictably called on her country to “thwart such attacks in future, to take on and defeat the ideology that often fuels this violence.” After the London attack proved nothing was thwarted, taken on or defeated, May tried harder. “Enough is enough,” she declared. “We cannot and must not pretend that things can continue as they are.”

Why was there any pretense in the first place? Because leaders corrupted by political correctness are more supportive of nonsensical nostrums than national security.

Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

After Manchester, May referred to a “spirit of Britain … that will never be broken.” After London, that particular bit of flaccid cheerleading was topped by those who labeled the image of a man fleeing the London attack with his unspilled pint of beer as “a surprising symbol of Londoners’ resilience.”

One is left to wonder at what point an unbroken or resilient spirit no longer compensates for the growing number of broken bodies, courtesy of leadership “so castrated by fear of offending anyone not specifically wielding a machete or a bomb, that they are impotent to take action,” as columnist Katie Hopkins states. “So frightened someone might cry Islamophobia, they peddle anything but the facts.”

It’s worse than that. CNN’s Abu Dhabi managing editor, Becky Anderson, was caught creating “facts,” when she staged a pro-British demonstration by Muslims. CNN denied the accusation, claiming a “group of demonstrators that was at the police cordon was being allowed through by officers so they could show their signs to the gathered media.” Yet this video shows CNN employees directing people where to stand, and placing flowers on the ground in front of them.

Thus, one can either believe CNN — or one’s own “lying eyes.”

Either way, it won’t matter, because the West’s ruling class and their enablers gave up making rational decisions a long time ago. National identity, replete with common customs, language and culture was deemed anachronistic by those far too “sophisticated” for such “conventional” thinking. Harnessing narcissistic levels of self-aggrandizement to rapid increases in technological advancement, they envisioned the “end of history” and the establishment of utopian world governance — with themselves firmly in control.

Toward that end, they invented many conventions, but none so destructive as multiculturalism, as in the idea that all cultures, no matter how different, are equally viable. Nothing has been more responsible for the incubation of domestic terror attacks than the spectacular conceit that welcomes millions of Middle East “refugees” into Western nations, while insisting the concurrent rise in hostility to Western values at best, and terrorist attacks at worst, is unrelated.

Even worse, it appears no level of bloodshed will disabuse those leaders of that contemptible notion.

When Prime Minister May speaks of the need to engage in “difficult, and often embarrassing, conversations” to root out terrorists, decent people must understand who exactly finds speaking the truth about Islamic terrorism difficult and embarrassing. They must understand that genuine solutions to this problem — as in mass deportations, a roundup of the most virulent terror suspects, a clampdown on immigration, school and prison radicalization, and the elimination of cyber-recruiting — will elicit another barrage of progressive vituperation, every bit as staged for consumption as CNN’s propaganda video. And as we move further from carnage towards a faux-normalcy that now includes elitist concessions about abiding “inevitable” outbursts of domestic terror — terror that inevitably occurs with ever-increasing frequency — the somnambulant status quo will ultimately reassert itself.

Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

For how long? For as long as the West’s ruling class would rather put a “ring of steel” around a pop concert and its patrons, than one around Western nations. For as long as judges make up law as they go along, and prevent restrictions on emigration from terrorist-infested nations. For as long as brainless celebrities and feckless politicians talk about love conquering hate, as if people whose faith-fueled determination to murder with reckless abandon are swayed by idiotic bromides. For as long as people prefer post-atrocity mourning to pre-atrocity pushback.

In other words, for as long as the Western ruling class can continue convincing the public that “managing” Islamist terror is better than eliminating it completely.

“We have reached the ultimate tipping point, where even the hardy believers have lost hope, and those keen to cling to the narrative ‘we stand defiant’ are lying heartbroken on the floor,” Hopkins insists. “Even the most tolerant liberals are emailing me privately to let me know they doubt everything they believed before, that they can’t tell their friends, but we have made mistakes and are paying the price.”

That is a contradiction. Those who have reached a truly ultimate tipping point wouldn’t worry about offending anyone, much less their friends. Thus we remain hostage to political correctness and its fanatical adherents. Adherents every bit as willing to undermine the survival of Western civilization as the Islamist fanatics who worship the most virulent passages contained in the Koran. Unless that disastrously symbiotic dynamic is destroyed, the future is clear.

Lather. Rinse. Repeat.
