A Tale of Two Marches
Leftists protest in support of Sharia, while turning "gay pride" marches into resist-Trump protests.
“Protesters who gathered on Saturday [in 28 cities] to denounce Islamic law were met across the country with equally sized or larger counter-protests,” gloated National Public Radio in a story about the “March Against Sharia.” Those counter-protesters started fights at some rallies, by the way. Inexplicably, NPR called into question the tenets of Sharia itself: “Organizers called the ‘March Against Sharia’ rallies to protest what they say is the threat to U.S. society posed by the set of traditional Muslim practices, which they say includes oppression of women, honor killings, homophobic violence, female genital mutilation and other abuses” [emphasis added]. Is it necessary to qualify it like that? Sharia does include those things — at least if some of its adherents are to be believed.
We suppose it’s “necessary” when the march’s organizer is ACT for America, which the leftist Southern Poverty Law Center calls the “largest grassroots anti-Muslim group in America.” What’s really amazing about this, however, is that so-called “tolerant” leftists would counter-protest (violently) and label as “hate groups” the people opposed to oppression of women, honor killings, homophobic violence and the like. Are leftists in favor of such things?
Meanwhile, Reuters reports, “Tens of thousands of people dressed in rainbow attire and waving protest signs walked en masse through Los Angeles on Sunday in a ‘Resist March’ against U.S. President Donald Trump, an event that took the place of the city’s annual Pride parade.” And in North Carolina, some homosexuals were denied a place in the Charlotte parade because their float was pro-Trump. Indeed, so-called “gay pride” has always been part of the Rainbow Mafia’s effort to flaunt what they claim to be private bedroom activity to promote a leftist political agenda.
The irony is that, on the same weekend, leftists were promoting “gay pride” (a.k.a. the Resistance™) while also defending Sharia, which is far more harsh toward homosexuals than any caricature of a conservative concocted by leftists. Then again, maybe it’s not ironic — both Sharia and the Rainbow Mafia share the intolerance gene, and, in both cases, leftists think they’re speaking truth to power. Nothing could be further from the truth.
