A new BBC report warns, “Humans could become extinct if sperm counts in men continue to fall at current rates.” The report elaborates, “Researchers assessing the results of nearly 200 studies say sperm counts among men from North America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, seem to have halved in less than 40 years.” Dr. Hagai Levine opines, “If we will not change the ways that we are living and the environment and the chemicals that we are exposed to, I am very worried about what will happen in the future.”

The study is undoubtedly an affirming one to former vice president and ecofascist Al Gore, albeit for completely different reasons. At a recent climate confab, he remarked, “Here is the good news: The effort to stabilize population growth in the world is actually a success story unfolding in slow motion. And a lot of progress has been made.” Translation: Population control is working.

He expounds on this view in his new book, “An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power,” where he states, “Population growth is slowly stabilizing as girls are educated, women are empowered, fertility management is made widely available and child mortality continues to decline. This aspect of our relationship to the Earth is, in spite of the great challenges growing populations will pose in some regions, a success story unfolding in slow motion.”

No matter which direction we go — population growth or decline — science suggests we’re doomed. On the one hand, people like Dr. Levine worry that human extinction will occur because of low sperm counts and the ensuing lack of babies. (An aside: If we assume Dr. Levine’s synopsis is true, how much of this can be attributed to the transgenderism fad and de-masculinity efforts of recent generations? We can’t know for sure, but it’s not zilch. And nothing is less scientifically literate than gender disorientation.)

On the other hand, Gore believes that population control is the only way to avoid human extinction. If you’re wondering why so many people have a tough time believing the “experts,” it’s because it’s impossible for all of them to be right. The fact of the matter is that science can be manipulated by anyone who has an agenda. That’s why skepticism isn’t just justified, but essential. And as far as Gore’s semantics are concerned, basic economics proves that population control is a self-defeating proposition.
