Donald Trump is, as you undoubtedly have heard, alleged to have had an affair with an “adult film star” known as Stormy Daniels in 2006, when he was married to his third wife, Melania. He is alleged to have paid Danials $130,000 in hush money. Both Trump (through his lawyers) and Daniels deny the affair, but the Demo/MSM outlets are having a field day with the latest allegations.

The president declared: “I want to say one thing to the American people. I want you to listen to me, I’m gonna say this again. I did not have sexual relations with that woman. … I never told anybody to lie, not a single time, never. These allegations are false.”

Oh, wait, that was accused serial sexual assailant Bill Clinton, lying to the American people about an affair he had when president, in the White House, with a subordinate female intern — for which he was later impeached for perjury but only lost his law license. It was during that 1999 impeachment that Clinton paid $850,000 to “settle” with one the women he was accused of assaulting. Recall how his slick co-president, Hillary Clinton, endeavored to slaughter the reputations of Bill’s assault victims in order to protect her own political ambitions.

But we digress. Here are a few observations about the Trump allegations:

First, this is part of the Leftmedia’s constant churn to generate advertising revenue, and few things do so better than salacious news, especially when it can distract from the conservative agenda. But even this story couldn’t top the mind-numbing outrage over Trump’s also alleged “s—thole countries” remark and the Left’s strategy to paint Trump as a racist to derail DACA deal.

Second, it’s also part of the Democrats’ strategy to pin a #MeToo-type moment on Trump. They aim to incite female voter outrage against him and all Republicans in order to take back Congress this year and the White House in 2020. Democrats have nothing else to run on this year, and thus can only hope to win by demonizing and destroying Trump (the politics of personal destruction, to borrow a phrase) and by running against peace and prosperity.

Third, a magazine called In Touch (insert your own joke here) interviewed Daniels about the affair in 2011 but never published it. Fox News found out about it in 2016 but didn’t run it. Again, both adults deny it. So it’s quite possible this affair never happened, though we’ll concede it’s perfectly believable. Trump cheated on his first wife with his second, and then cheated on his second with his third. He also boasted of other bad behavior and has been accused of still more. It’s not like it would be out of character — a trait we’ve acknowledged is far from Trump’s strong suit.

If Trump is guilty of the affair with Daniels, as he is guilty of previous affairs, we unequivocally condemn it. Again, Trump’s poor character has always been — and, it appears, will always be — a disgrace. By the way, the contrast with his own vice president, who won’t dine alone with a woman and is mocked by the Left for it, couldn’t be more stark.

But that’s all already baked in the cake with Trump. Voters knew what they were getting when they chose him over 16 other GOP contenders and then in the general election picked him over a criminal and entitled swamp creature whose husband had an affair with a subordinate in the Oval Office. Meanwhile, though you wouldn’t know if from Leftmedia coverage, the Trump administration has actually had an [extraordinarily successful first year]https://patriotpost.us/alexander/53221-making-america-great-again-first-year-report).

Finally, we’re not part of the blind mob that is so enamored with Trump that any criticism is tantamount to treason — the people who, as he once said, would support him even if he shot someone on Fifth Avenue. Nor, however, are we part of the #NeverTrump crowd that can’t see anything positive about him. We do our best to call it like it is.
