Far from the Democrats’ and Leftmedia’s incessant narrative that President Donald Trump is in bed with Moscow, on Thursday the Trump administration targeted Russia for sanctions and promised more to come.

Meanwhile, Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley called out the Kremlin over its criminal actions. Following the revelation of Russia’s poisoning of a former spy and his daughter in England, and Prime Minister Theresa May’s expulsion of 23 Russian diplomats in retaliation, Haley warned that Russia could engage in a similar attack on U.S. soil.

Addressing the UN Security Council, Haley argued, “If we don’t take immediate concrete measures to address this now, Salisbury will not be the last place we see chemical weapons used. They could be used here in New York, or in cities of any country that sits on this council. This is a defining moment.”

She then pointedly blamed Moscow, stating, “The United States believes that Russia is responsible for the attack on two people in the United Kingdom, using a military-grade nerve agent. Dozens of civilians and first responders were also exposed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims of this atrocious crime.” Haley continued, “A growing concern in all of this dangerous and destabilizing activity is Russia. Russia failed to ensure Syria destroyed its chemical weapons program. Russia killed the joint investigative mechanism when it found [Bashar al] Assad liable for chemical attacks. Russia used its veto to shield Assad five times last year.”

In addition, the Trump administration leveled new sanctions against Russia for its ongoing attempts at election meddling and cyberattacks. “The administration is confronting and countering malign Russian cyber activity,” Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin announced, “including their attempted interference in U.S. elections, destructive cyberattacks, and intrusions targeting critical infrastructure. These targeted sanctions are a part of a broader effort to address the ongoing nefarious attacks emanating from Russia.”

So much for Donald Trump being unwilling to confront Vladimir Putin.
