The Patriot Post® · Tuesday Short Cuts
For the record: “Family breakdown is probably a factor; out of the 27 deadliest mass shootings in the United States, 26 of the perpetrators were not raised by their biological fathers. But this by itself doesn’t explain it, because a lot of boys lack a father in the picture and don’t turn out to be mass shooters.” —Jim Geraghty
Observations: “Clinton’s [presidential] bid was saved, not destroyed, by Obama’s law-enforcement agencies, which tanked a criminal case on which she should have been indicted. And the hush-hush approach taken to the counterintelligence case against Donald Trump was not intended to protect the Republican candidate; it was intended to protect the Obama administration from the specter of a Watergate-level scandal had its spying on the opposition party’s presidential campaign been revealed.” —Andrew McCarthy
Campus anti-Semitism: “Last week, [New York City's Beacon School] held a moment of silence for 62 Gazans killed during rioting along the Israeli border. At least 50 of them were members of the terrorist group Hamas. If Hamas had succeeded in breaking through the security fence and killed 62 Israeli civilians, would the Beacon School’s administration have called for a moment of silence for dead Israelis? I doubt it. There is a growing faction on the Left that has a high degree of tolerance for dead Jews.” —Gary Bauer
Alpha Jackass: “You’re doing well but you’re a mean, mad, white man.” —Michael Dyson disparaging Jordan Peterson
And last… “There doesn’t seem to be a real concrete intelligence origin for this investigation, and without a foundation, one wonders what did we spend an entire year on? … I spent a year fighting this thing with Ken Starr and I think this thing is just plain wrong and it’s got to be ended and stopped. … We’ve seen that the less [Mueller and his team] come up with, the more they investigate instead of the opposite.” —Mark Penn
