This is why we can’t have nice things. Two female Hollywood stars have declared this week that some Disney movies are just too sinful in the #MeToo era for their daughters to see. Kristen Bell, star of Disney’s “Frozen,” and Keira Knightley, star of Disney’s upcoming “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms,” each took issue with Disney classics for the message they send about women.

“Don’t you think that it’s weird that the prince kisses Snow White without her permission?” Bell says of “Snow White.” “Because you can not kiss someone if they’re sleeping!” Knightley, on the other hand, gripes about “Cinderella” and “The Little Mermaid,” saying, “[Cinderella] waits around for a rich guy to rescue her. Don’t! Rescue yourself. Obviously!” As for the latter, “I mean, the songs are great,” she says, “but do not give your voice up for a man. Hello!”

Far be it from us to say any of these films is beyond criticism, but that’s not really the point. The issue is that militant feminism, weaponized #MeToo, and the overall “social justice warrior” crowd is ruining a lot of fairly wholesome stuff that families have enjoyed for decades.

But we give the award to The Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh for a hilarious, sarcastic takedown of this inane blather:

I cannot for the life of me understand why “Pocahontas” hasn’t been banned and all of the people involved in its production sent to prison camps. The film was terribly offensive well before President Trump used it as a racist taunt against Native American Senator Elizabeth Warren. “Pocahontas” features extremely harmful and retrograde Native American stereotypes and a deeply troubling White Savior storyline. The character Pocahontas is not only sexualized and objectified but reduced to an outdated caricature of an Indian woman who sings about the wind and talks to trees. This is not historically accurate, despite what they may teach in schools. Instead of letting your child watch “Pocahontas,” why not cut to the chase and just enlist him in the Nazi Party? It will have the same result either way.

He likewise takes on “Aladdin,” “Pinocchio,” and “The Lion King.” If leftists get upset at his humor, they have only themselves to blame because it’s an all-too-realistic deployment of their own “logic.”
