Acosta’s Accosting

The CNN reporter’s conduct is an example of why Trump calls the Leftmedia the “enemy of the people.”

After yet another dustup between President Donald Trump and the ever-petulant and self-aggrandizing CNN “journalist” Jim Acosta, the White House press office has finally pulled his credentials “until further notice.”

In his most recent disrespectful display, Acosta began his “question” by declaring, “I want to challenge you.” (Not your job, Jim.) And then he endeavored to re-script how Trump should address the approaching “caravan invasion” or “Caravasion” as we coined it. The President responded, “Honestly, I think you should let me run the country, you run CNN.”

When Acosta continued with his arrogant succession of assertions, false narratives, and interruptions, Trump said, “That’s enough. Put down the mic.”

But Acosta refused to give up his microphone and aggressively pushed away the arm of the young female intern who was instructed by the president to take his mic away. Trump came to her defense, scolding Acosta: “I tell you what, CNN should be ashamed of itself having you working for them. You are a rude, terrible person. You shouldn’t be working for CNN.”

Apparently, Trump has more respect for 21-year-old White House interns than Bill Clinton did. Indeed Acosta is rude and security should have escorted him to the door. And the fact is, CNN’s fake news does constitute an “enemy of the people.”

Within hours of losing his White House press credentials, and despite the fact the contact between Acosta and the intern was clear for the world to see, this grand master of “fake news” issued this bold-face lie: “I didn’t put my hands on her or touch her as they’re alleging, and it’s just unfortunate that the White House is saying this.”

Predictably, The Washington Post and other Leftmedia outlets attempted a diversionary tactic, proclaiming that a video of the contact between Acosta and the intern had been altered for effect. But even the left-wing Buzzfeed News was quick to dispel that assertion, noting it was not clear the video had been altered.

Regardless of that diversion, there is no question that Acosta accosted the intern, and he should be out.

Brit Hume, a genuine journalist, offered Acosta some thoughtful advice: “A presidential press conference, no matter who is president, is a forum to ask questions as tough as you like, but don’t argue. And you get one chance, maybe one followup. Your colleagues are waiting their turns. Show them some respect and the president. It’s not about you.”
