Outside the Supreme Court Building in Washington, DC, is a statue called “Lady Justice.” The statue depicts her with a blindfold and holding the scales of justice. The reason she is blindfolded is because the law is to be applied impartially without regard to wealth, power, status, race, or religion. We’ve all heard the statement that justice is blind; but is that still true in America?

After two years, we now have Robert Mueller’s final report on Russian interference in the 2016 election. Leftists have spent all week howling over how President Donald Trump and his campaign were exonerated of colluding with the Russians to steal the election from Hillary Clinton.

It doesn’t matter that the handful of charges Mueller did serve to other individuals had nothing to do with the special counsel’s mandate to find collusion with Russia. In my hometown, news of Paul Manafort’s conviction for “collusion” is big news. But it’s NOT! Manafort was not convicted on Russian collusion but on other charges related to his own business dealings that have nothing to do with the president.

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein indicted 13 Russian nationals for interfering in the 2016 presidential election. In his press conference he made it clear this did not change ONE VOTE in the 2016 election. But if you ask the average person about this, they have been told for two years that President Trump stole votes to win the election.

Multiple investigations — not just Mueller’s — have shown no evidence of collusion between Trump and Russia. But tune in to most media outlets and you will be convinced the smoking gun of Trump/Russia collusion was covered up by Trump’s “obstruction.”

We’ve watched for over a year as people who have connections to Trump are dragged through the criminal-justice system. The purpose is to get them to confess to something, anything, just so another “conviction” of a Trump “associate” runs up the total of indictments.

When the full weight of the American Justice system is brought against an American citizen, who can fight it? Ask Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, who was bankrupted and lost everything by defending himself against questionable allegations of lying to the FBI. He finally threw in the legal towel when they threatened to do the same to his wife and his son. Former FBI Director Comey said the agents interviewing him did not think he was being dishonest.

Mueller comes along and throws the book at him. Why? If the full weight of the government was stacked against you, you would probably confess to anything to stop the financial bleeding. That was what Flynn received from the government for over 30 years of honorable service to our country.

Here’s my point. If our legal justice system can be used to destroy a political opponent, simply because someone wants to, we are in serious trouble in this country. The Left is ecstatic over this because now it’s being used against Republicans. What happens when it is used by a Republican against Democrats. You know the old saying, “What goes around, comes around.” We all should be very concerned regardless of our political affiliation.
