“As we consider the potential of physical education to empower students by engaging them in critical and democratic practices, we conclude that the hidden curriculum offered by dodgeball is antithetical to this project, even when it reflects the choices of the strongest and most agile students,” claimed some “woke” researchers in an article published in Canada’s National Post. Wow, who knew? Evidently, the beloved schoolyard game of dodgeball is actually a “hidden curriculum” designed to reinforce “oppression” and encourage “marginalization, powerlessness, and helplessness of those perceived as weaker individuals through the exercise of violence and dominance by those who are considered more powerful.” It’s all fun and games until a social justice warrior gets hit by the ball of life.

In truth, this sounds more like a bunch of adult researchers who stunk at dodgeball as kids, years later seeking their revenge by suggesting the game is “dangerous to democracy.” What a pile of nonsense.

Meanwhile, actual psychological damage to children’s mental development is being promoted and celebrated as a wonderful embrace of “diversity.” The public library in Fall River, Massachusetts, has hopped on the Rainbow Mafia’s bandwagon in hosting Saturday afternoon Drag Queen Storytime Hour. A mother of a one-year-old defended the twisted display, asserting, “It’s no different than going to see a Disney Princess.” Actually, it’s completely different.

So, in this new woke world, the game of dodgeball is dangerous because of the patriarchy and competition, while a gender-confused drag queen reading to young children is heralded as societal progress. These are the crazy days.
