The Patriot Post® · AOC 'Ignorance' Deepens Demo Race-Card Rift
Yesterday, in “Pelosi vs. Ocasio-Cortez,” Nate Jackson noted yet another significant rift opened up between Democrat Party leadership and the new Socialist Democrats headed by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
In response to Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s assertion that Ocasio-Cortez and her trio of useful idiots — Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, and Ayanna Pressley — are masters at promoting themselves on social-media platforms, AOC responded by asserting that Pelosi was “singling out newly elected women of color.”
That’s right — she accused the leader of her party of being a racist.
In response, another Demo person of more color, Rep. William Lacy Clay of Missouri, fired back at AOC, saying it was asinine for Ocasio-Cortez and her “squad” to accuse Pelosi of racism. “I find it juvenile, their tactics. I find their ignorance to be beyond belief about American history,” he said. “How dare they try to play the race card?” Clay added, “It shows their lack of sensitivity to racism. To fall back on that [trope] is a weak argument. It has no place in a civil discussion. It shows they have no sensibility to different members from our caucus.”
Earlier, Pelosi had chastised the head of Ocasio-Cortez’s congressional staff, Saikat Chakrabarti, for comparing moderate Democrats to segregationists. Chakrabarti said centrist Democrats (yes, there are still a few of those) were the “new Southern Democrats” who “certainly seem hell bent to do to black and brown people today what the old Southern Democrats did in the 40s.”
When your party’s platform is built on identity politics, the inevitable outcome is identity infighting.
