Insight: “Government growing beyond our consent had become a lumbering giant, slamming shut the gates of opportunity, threatening to crush the very roots of our freedom. What brought America back? The American people brought us back — with quiet courage and common sense; with undying faith that in this nation under God the future will be ours, for the future belongs to the free.” —Ronald Reagan
Gun grabber: “[Confiscation is] exactly what we are going to do. Americans who own [semiautomatic firearms] will have to sell them to the government.” —Beto O'Rourke
Braying Jackass: “The thoughts and prayers that you just referred to, it has done nothing to stop the epidemic of gun violence.” —Beto O'Rourke
Too many people don’t “get” the reason for the Second Amendment: “Often times it’s actually hunters and folks that shoot on a range that understand that you don’t need these weapons of war, the AR-15 and other similar weapons. I think more and more, many of them get it.” —Julian Castro
Case in point: “Sure, I agree a certain percentage of people somehow fear the government is going to try and take over the entire country somehow and they’re going to need their weapons. But that’s actually a minority of people.” —Julian Castro
Non compos mentis: “And these kids who come [illegally], and they end up doing well, they become Americans before a lot of Americans become Americans. … I’m serious.” —Joe Biden
Grand delusions: “When we win that nomination, I’ll … make sure that we defeat the most dangerous president in the history of this country.” —Sen. Bernie Sanders
Non sequitur: “The weirdest thing about the electoral college is the fact that if it wasn’t specifically in the Constitution for the presidency, it would be unconstitutional.” —MSNBC’s Chris Hayes
And last… “I know Hillary Clinton blames James Comey for her loss, but frankly, Comey and Hillary deserve each other. Both think they’re above the rules and laws they impose on others; both think because they’re ‘righteous’, they’re entitled to break the rules. Their hypocrisy is sickening.” —Ari Fleischer
