Above the Fold

DORIAN UPDATE: “Hurricane Dorian will finally begin its long-awaited march up the Southeast coast today after delivering one last punishing blow over the storm-fatigued northwest Bahamas. Dorian’s wind intensity has backed off from Sunday’s peak, currently a Category 3 hurricane. Regardless of its intensity and track, Dorian will have significant, damaging impact from Florida’s Atlantic coast to parts of Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and possible southeast Virginia this week.” (The Weather Channel)

ANTI-GUN BLUSTER: “Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden went far to the left on the issue of guns on Monday, telling reporters that he wants to ban magazines that hold ‘multiple bullets’ — which means all magazines,” The Daily Wire reports. Biden declared, “This is no compromise. This is one we have to just push, and push, and push, and push, and push.” Some people believe this is yet another Biden faux pas. Regardless, magazine and firearm bans are the Democrat Party’s endgame. Additional methods to undermine the Second Amendment include this one as revealed by The Washington Free Beacon: “Liberal billionaire George Soros’s advocacy organizations are lobbying lawmakers on Capitol Hill to repeal an act protecting firearms manufacturers from liability for gun crimes including murder, disclosure forms show.”

Politics & National Security

WITCH HUNT: “House Democrats are set to open an investigation into President Trump’s involvement into payments made to porn star Stormy Daniels and former Playboy model Karen McDougal. … Democrats said they have enough evidence to name the president as a co-conspirator after Michael Cohen, his former attorney and fixer, plead guilty in August 2018 to campaign-finance charges that stemmed from payments made to Daniels and McDougal.” (Washington Examiner)

PANDORA’S BOX: “Democratic presidential candidate Cory Booker on Tuesday released a $3 trillion dollar plan to combat climate change after several of his opponents released their versions in recent weeks. The New Jersey senator’s plan aims to make the U.S. a 100 percent carbon-neutral economy by 2045 and combines two of his priorities, addressing economic inequality at the same time.” (National Review)

NEGOTIATING WITH THE DEVIL: “The Taliban on Tuesday defended their suicide bombing against an international compound in the Afghan capital that killed at least 16 civilians and wounded 119 people, just hours after a U.S. envoy said he and the militant group had reached a deal ‘in principle’ to end America’s longest war. … Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid told The Associated Press that ‘we understand that peace talks are going on … but they must also understand that we are not weak and if we enter into talks … we enter from a strong position.’ He said the attack was a response to raids by U.S. and Afghan forces on civilians in other parts of the country.” (The Washington Times)

Culture & Heartland

CALIFORNIA TRAGEDY: “At least 25 people were confirmed dead and nine others still missing after a tragic boat fire early Monday near an island off the Southern California coast. The dive-boat Conception, far out to sea in the middle of the night, became fully engulfed in flames as 30 passengers on a recreational scuba diving trip slept below deck.” (Associated Press)

RAINBOW MAFIA TRIGGERED “A few Kansas University faculty members are not fans of allowing Chick-fil-A to be served on campus because they believe the chain violates ‘safety and inclusion.’ The faculty council, filled with ‘extreme frustration,’ wants America’s favorite restaurant removed from campus for being a ‘bastion of bigotry’ after KU administrators relocated a Chick-fil-A from a basement to ‘prime real estate’ on campus to the Memorial Union. But worse yet, to the council, is the ‘Chick-fil-A Coin Toss’ at the start of the Jayhawks’ football home games.” (Fox News)

RAINBOW MAFIA RETALIATES: Author of hoax gender-studies papers punished by Portland State University (The Resurgent)

Around the World

CAPITULATING: Hong Kong adopts China’s language of terrorism to describe pro-democracy protests (Washington Examiner)

IRAN ROCKET FAIL: “After days of silence, Iran has finally acknowledged satellite images showing that there was an explosion at a rocket site last week. Iran on Monday said that the photos that have been circulating since last week and show a blast at the Imam Khomeini Space Center are accurate. The explosion came before a planned satellite launch by Iran that the U.S. has criticized.” (Washington Examiner)
