The Patriot Post® · Warren's Quid Pro Quo for Israel
It’s official, the “D” in “Democrat” stands for “double standard.” Democrat presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren stated that as president, in order to prevent Israel from building more settlements in the West Bank, she was open to withholding financial aid from our stalwart Middle Eastern ally. She further explained, “Right now, [Benjamin] Netanyahu says he is going to take Israel in a direction of increasing settlements, [but] that does not move us in the direction of a two-state solution. It is the official policy of the United States of America to support a two-state solution, and if Israel is moving in the opposite direction, then everything is on the table.” She then emphasized, “Everything is on the table.”
So, not only did Warren assert that she would engage in a quid pro quo to pressure a foreign government — the supposed impetus behind the Democrats’ “impeachment inquiry” against President Donald Trump — she also implied she’s willing to use military force against America’s closest ally in the Middle East. As Hot Air’s Ed Morrissey notes, “To the unschooled, which apparently includes Warren, ‘everything is on the table’ is a formulation that US presidents use in relation to hostile nations. It serves as a warning of potential military action to enforce American or international interests. It is not the kind of language one uses with allies.”
By contrast, recall that President Trump finally kept the promises made by American presidents for 25 years to move the U.S. embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.
