Stop us if you’ve heard this one before: A woman who left the lesbian lifestyle to pretend to be a man is upset because women who find out she’s not a man don’t want to date her.

Life in the 21st century sure does have its challenges.

“Internet dating when I was a lesbian was infinitely easier than how it is now as a trans man,” she complains in an op-ed at Vice. (We’ll spare you the link.) “Dating as a lesbian was more understood, too. People know what that means. As a trans guy, the majority don’t seem to know what to make of me, so they run away. I’ve played around with the big reveal and I know the two are linked. It’s hard not to see a connection when you arrange a second date, drop the T bomb and then she cancels in the next breath.”

This person seems stunned that a woman seeking to date a man would want to, er, date an actual man. And she supplements her shock with a sense of moral superiority: “By telling them that one thing about me, their reaction tells me everything I need to know about them. I should probably message them to say thanks.”

But it’s not just the would-be dates she dismisses as bigots. It’s the people who stubbornly cling to biological reality. These people, she says, “have such a limited view of how gender and sexuality works.” She then huffs indignantly, “We hold trans people to a higher standard than anyone else when it comes to dating.”

Her condition would normally be cause for compassion, but her sanctimonious op-ed embodies all that’s wrong with the Rainbow Mafia and its tactics. She embraces victimhood, wearing it like a badge, and she demands that the rest of us bow to her alternate reality. Those who don’t are called out and shamed.

It’s more than just whiny op-eds, too. It’s the likes of what happened recently to The Daily Signal, which had a 2017 video removed for “violating YouTube’s policy on hate speech.” And what was so deplorable about that video? Just a single sentence from a pediatrician: “If you want to cut off a leg or an arm, you’re mentally ill, but if you want to cut off healthy breasts or a penis, you’re transgender.”

The message is clear: Celebrate them or else.
