The Patriot Post® · Know Your Enemy
I want to be very careful here in using this phrase by Sun Tzu: “Know your enemy.” As a Christian, I have only ONE enemy. He is not a Democrat or a Republican or even a communist. Satan has been the enemy of anything good since the Garden of Eden. Nevertheless, we need to make ourselves aware of evil that has been craftily working its way through our political system for decades. That evil is socialism.
“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles,” Sun Tzu said. “If you know yourself, but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
In Vietnam, we had to learn the difference between enemy and friend. During the daytime, the Viet Cong guerillas looked just like everyone else. Not until you saw a weapon in their hands could you determine their motive, which was to kill you. At a metaphorical level, this same battle has been taking place around us for decades. But it has finally revealed itself clearly in the political battle for the soul of America.
We’ve heard the cracks: “What is socialism? Communism for slow learners.” Or, “What’s the difference between socialism and communism? About 10 years.” While funny, these quips don’t convey how real the threat of a socialist/communist takeover of our country is right now.
This hasn’t happened overnight. The communist/socialists have been working diligently to undermine the very foundations of our country. Nowhere has it been more evident than in our system of education. During the Vietnam War, radicals took over college campuses all across the country to protest the war. Today, they are tenured professors at our institutions of higher learning. They are teaching our children’s teachers how to indoctrinate our children into their socialistic views.
Think I’m exaggerating? Check out the credentials of Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn. Both are unrepentant members of the Weather Underground. Angela Davis is a former Black Panther and Communist Party member. Assata Shakur is a former Black Liberation Army member who fled to Cuba but is now a hero to the Left. I could go on, but I think you get the point.
Millions of families have sent their children to universities only to find everything they were taught growing up — values, faith, and other traditional beliefs — has been totally destroyed. In the place of a true education they have been indoctrinated into socialistic philosophies. We didn’t get to this place overnight. Nor will we quickly get over the problems created by our fear of alienating our children. While things may look grim, all is not lost.
I said before I have only ONE true enemy. The problem in our country is not just political, it’s also spiritual. We have lost our way spiritually. We have lost our moral compass. Nowhere is this more evident than in the breakdown of the family.
The next election will not determine the fate of our nation as much as a spiritual renewal. We can begin right now by praying for a nation-wide revival. With God, all things are possible!
Something to pray about?
