Cal Thomas, syndicated columnist and longtime friend of The Patriot Post, observed last Thursday on social media that the Leftmedia is up to its old fake news again.

ABC News recently cited anonymous sources to claim that a report from the National Center for Medical Intelligence warned as early as November about the coronavirus and the threat it posed.

ABC NEWS: “As far back as late November, U.S. intelligence officials were warning that a contagion was sweeping through China’s Wuhan region, changing the patterns of life and business and posing a threat to the population, according to four sources briefed on the secret reporting. Concerns about what is now known to be the novel coronavirus pandemic were detailed in a November intelligence report by the military’s National Center for Medical Intelligence (NCMI), according to two officials familiar with the document’s contents.”

The DIA has now debunked ABC’s story, making clear that no such report exists.

Last night, Colonel Shane Day, Director of the DIA’s National Center for Medical Intelligence issued a statement that no product like the one described by ABC exists.

COLONEL DAY: “As a matter of practice the National Center for Medical Intelligence does not comment publicly on specific intelligence matters. However, in the interest of transparency during this current public health crisis, we can confirm that media reporting about the existence/release of a National Center for Medical Intelligence Coronavirus-related product/assessment in November of 2019 is not correct. No such NCMI product exists.”

Indeed, it is rare for the Pentagon to contradict news reports, whether real or fake, because doing so could further compromise U.S. national security. Let’s just hope ABC and other Leftmedia outlets start giving more credence to American sources than to the Chinese propagandists.
