The Big Lie!

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.”

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it,” Nazi propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels is said to have mused (no doubt privately, if at all). “The lie can only be maintained for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie.”

Many nations have only one main source of information and it goes through a filter of what the government wants citizens to know. Once upon a time, many Americans had a favorite “anchor” they enjoyed hearing deliver the news. Not so much anymore. Today, if you flip the channels, you hear the same words from everyone. If they all say the same thing, why do we need so many? The problem is whether we’re getting unfiltered news or not.

Rahm Emanuel, President Barack Obama’s chief of staff, infamously said, “Never let a good crisis go to waste.” It seems many on the Left are taking his advice seriously. Governors, mayors, and other officials are taking advantage of the COVID-19 crisis to try things they could not do before. Apparently, when you can tell people what they can and cannot do, some politicians get carried away.

Michigan’s governor told people they could not go to another home, even if they owned it. She said you can’t take your boat or wave runner on the water. However, she said abortion IS an essential service, as it relates to a woman’s health. A federal judge in Tennessee said the same thing. So, you can’t get a haircut, have your nails done, or workout at a gym, but you can get an abortion. You can stand in line at Walmart, but you can’t sit in your car in a church parking lot and hear worship and an encouraging message. It’s not as if anyone needs godly encouragement!

Night after night we have COVID-19 updates with the same message: stay away from each other. We don’t want so many cases of the virus that we overload the hospital system. New York City was the epicenter of cases in the nation, yet patients did not overload the system. Yes, some hospitals were very busy, but others … not so much. The urgent medical facilities set up to assist, including a U.S. Navy hospital ship, turned out not to be needed. Anyone remember over 800,000 hospitalizations in 2018 with flu patients? We didn’t overload the system then.

Remember Gov. Andrew Cuomo yelling he needed the federal government to send 30,000 ventilators to New York immediately or someone (I guess the president) had to pick who would or would not die? The state actually only needed about 5,000 ventilators. I also remember Gov. Cuomo saying recently he thought it was interesting that nobody was dying of other causes anymore. Since keeping score on the coronavirus deaths, hardly anyone is dying of the flu, pneumonia, or other factors. I was shocked to hear him actually voice this.

Why are COVID-19 deaths hyped every day? Why do these people want to shut down the country for months if they know it will result in an economic disaster unlike anything we’ve ever seen? Most of these “experts” have received government paychecks for so long they forget someone has to work to pay for it. Who can we trust to get the truth?

Something to think about?
