Defunding the Police: The Five Pillars of Authority

The roles of Patriarchy, Pastors, Principals, Politicians, and Police have all changed.

America has reached an all-time low and the Democrat Party is once again leading the way. With all the rioting and looting in the streets of several cities across America, why don’t we defund the police now? At a time when America is at her most vulnerable, why don’t we create an atmosphere of lawlessness? Who came up with such a bright idea? Enter Black Lives Matter and the rest of the victim community. They want to disarm the armed and put the power in the street culture of anarchy.

This goes beyond protesting and hash tags. Defunding the police puts America under attack for its fifth and final pillar of power. I call them all the five P’s of authority.

  1. Patriarchy
  2. Pastors
  3. Principals
  4. Politicians
  5. Police

Patriarchy is a system of society or government in which the father or eldest male is head of the family and descent is traced through the male line. This pillar of authority is the oldest and most important because everything starts at home. Fathers in the home carry authority; mothers carry the influence. A father’s voice commands respect in his house. His children are priority and his family is protected. Unfortunately, a dad can be in the home and still not be in the home. His presents are felt more than his presence. This negatively affects his son, daughter, and even the family dog differently. I’ll spend most of the time talking about this pillar since I believe it’s the most dynamic of the five.

For sons:

  • When boys don’t have Fathers they see men in authority as the Police.
  • Boys don’t know how to let things go.
  • Boys are driven by what they “feel,” including anger.
  • Boys don’t know how to lead properly.
  • Boys have a problem with being under authority because they want to be in authority.
  • Boys will not follow simple instructions.

As for daughters who are missing this link in their lives, they suffer more emotionally.

  • Daughters see boys and men as an escape for emotional fantasy.
  • Daughters see men as unnecessary.
  • Daughters don’t have a clear idea of how to be treated by men.
  • Daughters have a problem with being led by a husband because their mother showed and told them to be independent.
  • Daughters respond in anger and defeat to ordinary situations as they lack endurance.

As we can see, the first pillar of Patriarchy has been destroyed in America. Gone are the days where a loving father leads his family with tough and tender authority. Dads are seen today as no longer a fixture of the family, but just a quick fix for babysitting, child support, alimony, and ridicule. Indeed, the Patriarchy is roundly denounced by feminists as a sign of oppression.

The second pillar of authority is the Pastor. The church has gone from being the pillar of society to the laughing stock of today’s general public. The pulpit has become a place of posturing instead of preaching. Preaching to the direct conditions of the parishioners sitting right in your face is now judging. So, today, pastors don’t preach hard truths concerning sex, marriage, fornication, divorce, or even racial reconciliation. Most of the tough stuff is discussed by pop psychologists and motivational speakers. The Bible teaches pastors to “preach in season and out of season” (2 Timothy 4:2). This means that no matter what is going on in society, pastors are required to “bring it.” Bring the truth; leave the games, jokes, and gimmicks. Unfortunately, pastors don’t have the same respect they once had and their authority is up for question.

The third pillar of authority is the Principal. The school system used to be a stalwart symbol in the community. The school was an extension of the home and church. Today, however, principals are just trying to keep their jobs allowing whatever in their schools. No discipline, no paddling, no respect for authority. The principal today is mostly in their offices making sure their schools are budgeting well and going to offsite meetings. There was once a time when the principal walked the halls and lips got zipped, hands were kept by your waste, and voices were quiet. Go to a general public school today and stand in the hallway. You’d think there was mud on the floor and pigs were having recess.

The fourth pillar of authority is the Politician. I guess we all know this pillar of authority is fraudulent. Special-interest groups put money in the pockets of politicians to get their agenda across. Lobbyists do the same. The reason Donald Trump is hated so much is because hands are not in his pockets tempting him to do an anti-American thing due to financial obligation. Nonetheless, politicians are known for their greed and abuse of power. This pillar of authority has gradually lost its grip over generations.

Now, for the final pillar of authority that ties everything together with the topic. The fifth pillar of authority in our nation is the Police. The patriarchy has been ripped away from homes through fornication and divorce. Many of the pastors are afraid to address issues through God’s word to save face. The principals have relinquished control to the students in fear of what single moms will say as a result of anybody correcting “her baby.” The politicians have sold their communities up the river for political kickbacks and power. The last and final authority left with an organized strong arm are the Police. Defunding the police is like defunding our military. The weaker the police force, the stronger the street force. Democrats are pushing for nothing short of total anarchy. Lawlessness puts upstanding citizens in danger. The Police protect us and are even established in scripture in Romans 13.

Fathers are the bedrock of all five pillars of authority. The father is the pastor of his home. He shepherds his children with the word of God. He teaches them to have faith and believe God created them with and for purpose. The father is the principal of the home. He trains his children with love and discipline. He knows how to be tough and tender with them. He makes no excuses for bad behavior and will handle it accordingly in the “principal’s office.” The father is the politician. He lays down the laws and guidelines of the home and places proper boundaries to ensure the safety and security of his children. Finally, the father is the police. He enforces the laws, even when his children believe he shouldn’t. He polices the home for any suspicious activities and ensures his family is protected and served.

The law enforcers are under attack and the liberal left is bloodthirsty for lawlessness. As mentioned, the police are the last organized authority in our land, but that’s about to change. We must stand with the “boys and girls in blue” and support their efforts. They are called on to be fathers, pastors, principals, and politicians. They are counselors, mechanics, and rescuers all at once. If you see a local police officer, shake his or her hand and thank them for their service. They are at war and need our encouragement. A donut wouldn’t hurt either.
