The Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History & Culture recently debuted a stunningly racist poster that lists supposed signs of “whiteness” or “white dominant culture.” You read that correctly. The African American museum believes that the color of skin determines value, not your character. These social constructs of color are all lies anyway. I’m honestly sick of this type of language.

“Whiteness” and white racialized identity refer to how white people — their culture and beliefs — are the standard by which all people should live by. “Whiteness,” according to the African American museum poster, is the racial identity of America, so when you see America you’re supposed to think “whiteness.” This tomfoolery has even reached religious circles, where Christianity is registered as “whiteness.” Yeah, Christianity is the “white man’s religion.”

Of course, the idea that Christianity is a sign of whiteness would be news to the majority of black Americans, 79% of whom identified as Christian in a 2014 Pew Research Center study on the nation’s religious landscape.

Dear “white” people, do you see what you have done? You have taken over and left nothing for the rest of us to claim. Come on, “white” people. You could have at least left some crumbs on the table.

Do you sense my sarcasm?

According to longtime race-baiting author Judith H. Katz, “whiteness” includes language and education including “politeness, hard work, self-reliance, delayed gratification, and justice.” So, speaking proper English is “talking white.” If you hold doors, respect your elders, or save sex for marriage, those are all “whiteness” factors. There’s such a thing as “white” justice too. If the jurors are majority “white,” then a black man can’t get a fair trial no matter the evidence. “White” people have even taken over the culinary arts as well. Food without seasoning is for “white people.”

This “whiteness” has created an American culture where nonwhite people are made to be inferior and ostracized.

The last “whiteness” construct I want to address is the nuclear family. According to the Left’s White-O-Meter, two-parent homes are “white” as white bread. So, the home I grew up in was “white”? I want to burst into laughter. My mom and dad were hard-working blue-collar folks who inspired my sisters and me to achieve in every field of endeavor. The balance of having my mom and dad together meant the world to me. I started working when I was 15, achieved Eagle Scout, and earned academic scholarships to college. All that stuff is “whiteness.”

Oh, I forgot to tell you, I’m “black.”

The truth? The vast majority of what has been described as “whiteness” is nothing more than fundamental Biblical values. These values are not color based but character based. American values include family, community, education, and patriotism. According to the intel gathered, I guess anyone not “white” is crass, overly emotional, lazy, and speaks broken English.

According to commentator Elise Ehrhard, “Decisions that lie in personal responsibility know no race. Everyone in America has the possibility and the responsibility to adhere to American values — values the Smithsonian seems to be considering ‘white.’ Considering such values to be inherently ‘white’ sows greater racial division in the United States. That, more than anything, is truly un-American and a sign of hatred for this nation and the values that built it.”

I couldn’t agree more. May the Lord deliver us all from “whiteness.”
