The Patriot Post® · Hard Out Here for a Pimp
Obviously, I’m in the wrong profession. Apparently in Seattle, being a pimp-turned-street ambassador is the way to go these days. According to The Blaze, “The city of Seattle has hired a Black Lives Matter activist and convicted ex-pimp to be its ‘Street Czar,’ paying him $12,500 a month for a year to come up with ‘alternatives to policing.’” Truth is stranger than fiction.
Andrè Taylor, the subject of the 2000 documentary “American Pimp,” served just one year of a five-year prison sentence for illegally working as an escort hustler. He came to Seattle in 2016 vowing to “go to war” after his brother, Che Taylor, was killed by police. That, apparently, qualified him to be appointed to “de-escalate” tensions between the “hood” and police.
The truth is, this is just another lucrative liberal scam that will accomplish nothing. Taylor and his organization, Not This Time, will be paid by Seattle $150,000 over the next 12 months to provide “community de-escalation services” — to bring down racial and anti-authority tensions. It sounds like he’s still running the pimp game.
Seattle will provide Taylor’s organization office space in the city’s Municipal Tower according to the contract. The Seattle Times noted that the contract came just one year after Not This Time was paid $100,000 by the city to host a speaker series called “Conversations with the Streets.”
All the woke folks are really sleepy in Seattle. What’s a pimp going to do to save Seattle? Liberals come up with the dumbest ideas yielding the dumbest outcomes. The Left is always coming up with “progressive” ways to ruin major metropolitan cities in America.
Under the agreement, which was reportedly Taylor’s idea, Not This Time will also work toward the “urgent de-escalation of conflict and violence between the police and the community assembling in the Capitol Hill neighborhood.”
Taylor’s public presence during protests and riots in Seattle reportedly evolved considerably over the last several months. He led one of the very first rallies in Seattle in the immediate aftermath of the police-involved death of George Floyd in Minneapolis in May, and he appeared at a news conference beside Democrat Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan on the same day.
The majority of the black community is so desperate that it will even use a pimp to fulfill its agenda. I guarantee this was seen as a good idea. “Street cred” means more than character and moral credibility. As long as there is a criminal angle, the black community will accept it. Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, George Floyd, and Jacob Blake all have a thug narrative. Let that marinate. I guess it takes a street dude to be the conduit for the streets. The streets really need dads, not a pimp.
P.S. Taylor wants to defund the police, but now is the time to DEFEND the police! Check out what American Patriots are wearing to show their support for the police.
