The Patriot Post® · Valentine Love Lost Between Biden, Media
Joe Biden’s administration promised from the get-go to be friendlier to the press than Donald Trump’s administration ever was. Given the media’s incessant torment of and hatred for Trump, that wouldn’t be hard. It would be even easier given the loyal devotion of the Leftmedia to the Democrat Party. But some relationships are friendlier than others, and it took less than a day for at least one relationship to turn sour.
Deputy White House Press Secretary T. J. Ducklo resigned over Valentine’s weekend after revelations of having threatened Politico reporter Tara Palmeri regarding reports that Ducklo was involved in a relationship with Axios reporter Alexi McCammond. “I will destroy you,” the male Ducklo told the female Palmeri in January, among other terrible and misogynistic things not fit for reprinting here.
You see, while Ducklo was a senior member of Biden’s campaign communications team, McCammond was covering the Biden campaign. She “solved” the glaring conflict of interest posed by her romantic affiliation by … switching to Kamala Harris’s vice presidential campaign in November. Then again, it’s not news that Democrats and the media have always had an incestuous relationship.
As for Biden, the “Big Guy” himself? He warned his staff on inauguration day — the same day Palmeri began her inquiry — “[If] I hear you treat another colleague with disrespect, talk down to someone, I promise I will fire you on the spot.”
Yet Ducklo worked for Biden for nearly another month before being suspended for a week. Less than a day after his suspension, Ducklo fell on his own sword with a contrite statement regarding his failures. In other words, he was not fired “on the spot,” but resigned, albeit probably under pressure.
Why didn’t Biden keep his word? Maybe he simply forgot what he had promised. Or maybe he decided he couldn’t fire Ducklo when so much time had already passed since the offense. Press Secretary Jen Psaki “explained” that Ducklo’s offense “doesn’t meet the president’s standard” for immediate termination.
So, where is the media outrage? Was Ducklo’s exit sufficient for the sycophants in the press room?
The reality, of course, is that the Democrat/media alliance trumps all other considerations. Biden’s team will get favorable coverage as often as Trump’s got negative coverage, whether or not someone in the White House is literally sleeping with someone in the press corps. This mainstream media prostitution is and will continue to be a disgusting perversion of a free press.
