A Divided Right Gives Dems Power

It’s time for conservatives to stop squabbling and unify in order to defend Liberty.

Most of us on the Center-Right are endeavoring to make a positive impact on our communities and families and to protect our Liberty for this and future generations. But as often happens after a campaign loss, internal fighting has erupted on the Right, which inadvertently but directly aids the Left. It’s important to have “family discussions” to plan for the next election, but it’s not just the next election that matters. What we do now affects the actual survival of a belief system that guards our history, learns from it, and ensures that rights and responsibilities are protected by government.

The Left effectively employs the cancel culture for the purpose of silencing speech with which it disapproves, especially anything related to the Judeo-Christian faith, conservative principles, and traditional family values. As vividly evidenced over the last 24 months, Big Tech has joined the national media not just to become and operate as weapons of the Democrats but to be synonymous with the Democrat Party itself.

Instead of infighting, Republicans must take up the fight against those who control the flow of information as well as political candidates and campaign operations.

As Democrats support and pass legislation that spends almost $2 trillion, claiming it’s COVID financial relief when only a fraction of that incomprehensible sum goes to truly support issues related to the coronavirus, are we on the Center-Right rallying around common values and goals? Are Republicans working together to get our kids back in classrooms and address our nation’s abysmal literacy rate of only 35% in the fourth grade and 33% in the eighth grade while teachers unions continue making their unending demands at the expense of students? Are we on the Center-Right joined together to fight against the blurring of truth with the passage of the “Equality Act” that destroys religious liberty and targets Judeo-Christian beliefs by reengineering most every aspect of our society? Or will we continue to bicker as biology is redefined by politics and women’s rights and accomplishments are negated?

While Republicans fixate on who “truly” supported Donald Trump, who’s still with Trump, and who’s the most vocal in opposition, our largest institutions are being reconstructed by Democrats — education, healthcare, and mass communications, just to name a few. Rather than looking in the rearview mirror, Republicans would be best served to unify around efforts to counter the Joe Biden-Kamala Harris agenda and offer thoughtful solutions at every level of government for winsomely moving our nation forward.

This year’s Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) featured former President Donald Trump, who declared that he was “not starting a new party” despite rumors. “Wouldn’t that be brilliant?” he sarcastically noted. “Let’s start a new party so we can divide our vote and never win.” That’s in contrast to various Leftmedia articles that feature individuals like Cindy McCain, Senator Mitt Romney, and others calling for a split in the GOP.

The great British statesman Winston Churchill once advised, “When there is no enemy within, the enemies outside cannot hurt you.” The truth of this admonition rests with the ability of the Republican Party to be a fortress for Liberty, a refuge for those who rally around common beliefs and goals. Quoting Jesus in Mark 3:25, Abraham Lincoln said in his debates with Stephen A. Douglas, “A house divided against itself cannot stand.”

If the Center-Right is to govern, we must have the capacity to stop the internal fussing, fighting, and power plays. Republicans have to do more than talk about unity; we must work to realize and maintain it. If the Republican Party divides, the Democrats win. And Americans lose.
