At one time words had meaning. When someone said something to you, you usually understood what they were saying. That’s before words became politically correct and you had to try to discern the speaker’s intent. We all remember President Bill Clinton, under oath, trying NOT to impeach himself, splitting hairs over what the word “is” meant. Deep stuff!

The same thing continues to happen when leftists and their media enablers allow the meaning of words to be turned upside down. Nowhere is this more critical than in trying to determine the REAL purpose of legislation that comes out of Congress. Let’s take a look at the recently passed “Equality Act.” I mean, what kind of person would be against equality?

But you have to dissect the actual bill paragraph by paragraph (which most of our legislators regularly fail to do) to find its real purpose. The so-called “Equality Act” is one more example of legislation totally at odds with the name.

This bill is the most egregious piece of legislation since the Obama years. Only the far Left can take a word and twist it like a pretzel to mean something totally different than intended. I have no idea who this Equality Act is supposed to help, but it’s not you or me; it’s not the average American. But then, the Biden administration hasn’t done anything to benefit anyone but cronies and American enemies. So little time, so many lives to screw up!

This legislation, already on its way to the Senate, will totally overhaul our civil rights framework to mandate abortion access and provide even more privileges for the LGBTQ and gender-confused segment of society. The Title II “public accommodations” provision means females will no longer have privacy in places like restrooms, fitness centers, schools, and even shelters for battered women. Any man “identifying” as a woman must be allowed access to the women’s facilities.

There are examples all across the country where state and local laws to this effect have had serious consequences for women and children. A rape survivor had to quit her job when her employer allowed men into the women’s facilities. A little girl was assaulted in a school restroom by a boy who identified as a girl.

We’ve already seen the results when women have to compete on the now totally un-level playing field of sports against biological males who then physically dominate the competition. So much for the gains made by the feminist movement. By the way, where are the voices of the feminists who spent years fighting for a level playing field? Hello? Anyone?

Women going through the Small Business Administration Office of Women’s Business Ownership will compete for assistance from men who identify as female. But the most damage from this legislation will be when doctors and medical professionals will be forced to provide services regardless of their religious beliefs. The Equality Act has been developed to exempt it from the Religious Freedom Restoration Act and thus it would erode religious liberty.

Churches and faith-based organizations, adoption agencies, and others all would be required by law to violate their beliefs about sexual behavior, marriage, and the difference between males and females.

Equality apparently means something different to the Biden administration than it does to normal Americans.
