The Woke Mob currently rules America. And just like the gangsters of the Roaring Twenties, there’s a big price to pay if we don’t give it what it wants.

When Georgia recently passed a law requiring voters to have a form of identification, as well as some other minor changes to shore up election integrity, the Left was apoplectic.

Even the president of the United States claimed the bill was a return to the Jim Crow Era “on steroids” — a comment utterly void of reality and shamefully disrespectful to those who suffered discrimination during that period in our history. Of course, the media played along, and millions of Americans now think Georgia’s elected officials voted to suppress black Americans from accessing the voting booth. This lie will be repeated to the next generation of students as part of their anti-racist indoctrination.

The truth is usually in the way when the mob wants power.

As long as it can get away with shaking down businesses for political and financial gain, facts are irrelevant. Fortunately for the Woke Mob, American businesses are practically tripping over themselves to appease it.

In response to Georgia’s attempt to ensure the integrity of our elections, a corporate summit called by the CEO’s of American Express and Merck resulted in more than 100 companies signing a statement published in The Washington Post and The New York Times titled “We Stand for Democracy.”

In part, the letter reads, “For American democracy to work, we must ensure the right to vote for all of us. We should all feel a responsibility to defend the right to vote and to oppose any discriminatory legislation or measures that restrict or prevent any eligible voter from having an equal and fair opportunity to cast a ballot.”

Basically, the corporations who signed the letter are claiming to support exactly what the Georgia voting bill now guarantees. Thanks to the law, all eligible voters will have an equal and fair opportunity to cast a ballot.

But America’s corporate chiefs didn’t sign the letter to affirm democracy. They signed on to surrender to the Woke Mob. A company’s name on that document basically says to Al Sharpton & Company, “We will do whatever you want to stay in your good graces.” These CEOs aren’t stupid. They’re just cowards.

One notable exception is The Home Depot. One of Georgia’s largest companies, and unlike the state’s other big businesses like Coca-Cola and Delta, the big box hardware store didn’t criticize the new law and didn’t sign the mob’s letter.

You can probably guess what happened next.

A black Georgia pastor — who just happens to be a supporter of Louis Farrakhan and who once referred to Adolf Hitler as a “very great man” — is calling for a national boycott of The Home Depot for its failure to surrender.

As Jarrett Stepman writes at The Daily Signal, “One wonders, if the only truly animating ‘nonpartisan’ issue these corporate titans are standing for is democracy, why do we see no similar collective statements in response to the autocratic and deeply anti-democratic policies of communist China, for instance?” He adds, “In spite of this corporate insistence on ‘democracy,’ threatening states that pass laws through their democratically elected officials seems quite anti-democratic.”

A few critics of the Woke Mob have spoken out, but it’s not enough. It’s going to take more than conservative YouTube hosts and Fox News political pundits — or even your humble Patriot Post team.

For now, Georgia Governor Brian Kemp and former Home Depot CEO Bob Nardelli are both critical of a boycott, claiming it would unfairly penalize thousands of people who rely on the company for jobs.

Today it’s The Home Depot. Tomorrow, it’ll be the mom-and-pop grocery on Main Street.

The mob is coming for all of us, and until good people from across the country stand up and push back, the extortion of America will continue.
