The next time your teen child’s feeling a bit anxious about life, think twice about sending him to counseling. These days, he’s likely to be told he’s suffering from gender dysphoria.

Sadly, this isn’t an exaggeration. Instead of providing troubled teens and young adults with the support they need, so-called professionals often tell them the pathway to peace and happiness is through puberty blockers, hormones, and surgery.

From Hollywood to young adult fiction to guest speakers in your child’s elementary school classroom, the “transgender” lifestyle is portrayed as a panacea. And the very people we want our young people to trust, such as pastors and teachers, are now agents of an insidious gender-bending cult. The Rainbow Mafia couldn’t be happier to perpetuate the glamorous “transgender” lifestyle, no matter how many lives are ruined.

The Internet offers gender-questioning youth countless videos and websites about the rewards of supposedly transitioning to a new gender. Coupled with an ever-growing culture of affirmation, these sources of information drive our young people into the abyss.

Certainly, much of this comes from the entertainment industry, also known as the cesspool of American culture.

HBO’s documentary “Transhood” features real-life stories of parents forcing their children to accept and celebrate their new gender, even though some of the kids aren’t old enough to have any idea what’s being done to them.

One child is four years old.

Dr. Michelle Cretella, the executive director of the American College of Pediatrics, stated in an interview, “America is engaged in large-scale child abuse … and complicit in this is my field.” She adds that “14 states and 44 counties have banned therapies for transgender youth, essentially forcing them into this condition.”

Cretella is right. This is child abuse.

Age of consent laws are in place because children don’t have the emotional or psychological development to know the serious consequences of their choices. Yet kids far younger are being brainwashed into thinking they were born in the wrong body.

With that background, and just when it seemed the Leftmedia wouldn’t dare question the dark side of the transgender movement, CBS ran a surprising segment on “60 Minutes” this week featuring young people who reversed course after various stages of gender “treatment.” Each recounted how the initial process was made far too easy for them.

When asked by “60 Minutes” host Lesly Stahl about her therapy session, one of the victims revealed that the therapist didn’t “really go into what my gender dysphoria might’ve been stemming from” because “we only did a few sessions.”

In other words, No need for us to figure out what’s going on, kid. Let me get you some hormone treatments. By the way, are you free next Tuesday for surgery?

Another man-turned-woman interviewed for the program was approved for cross-sex hormone treatment after only two therapy sessions. That led to breast augmentation and castration within three months. Only then did he feel suicidal.

Of course, the “transgender” community is outraged at “60 Minutes” and Stahl. But to her credit, Stahl stands by her report.

We can only hope the “60 Minutes” program is a starting point about having real, honest conversations about the abuse of children and young adults taking place under the guise of embracing one’s “real” gender.

Finally, professionals across a range of fields in medicine and counseling are beginning to wonder if it’s all going too far.

And, yes, there’s plenty of research showing that what’s being done to kids is experimental. Thankfully, some lawmakers in states like Texas are taking bold action. And just last year, a court in the UK ruled that minors cannot consent to puberty blockers or cross-sex hormones.

These are all critical steps in the right direction, but the fight has just begun to stop the Rainbow Mafia from experimenting on our children and destroying their lives.
