The Patriot Post® · The Cult of Fauci Continues

By Catherine Mortensen ·

Americans, perhaps even the world, seem to be living in two different realities, as evidenced by the latest viral video touting COVID vaccinations, and following the “wisdom” of Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and the chief medical advisor to President Joe Biden.

The highly produced Hollywood video, which nonetheless has a low budget and campy feel, shows British comedian James Corden dancing around in the streets with pop singer Ariana Grande singing ridiculous lines such as:

“Shout out to our favorite MD, Anthony Fauci!”

“Look at my hair, I’m no longer scared to have it cut.”

“I’m back on the streets, it’s been so long since I’ve put on my shoes.”

“Time to go back to work. The world is such a new place to me.”

“Making plans is like sex to me.”

“Once you’ve got the vaccine it’s time to hug your family.”

“No lockdowns. We’re free.”

Conservatives on Twitter are mocking the viral video, which debuted on YouTube last week and already has close to three million views.

“What fresh hell is this?” asks a Twitter user.

Another person tweeted, “I’m vaccinated, but this makes me want to get unvaccinated.”

Seeing this video makes me wonder what reality these people have been living in for the past year. Many of us have tried to live our lives as free as possible and have not been holed up in our homes under lockdown. I know I certainly haven’t been. I’ve been going to the gym, the hair salon, the work office, and engaging in most other normal activities for a year now. I haven’t been hanging on every word that comes out of Dr. Fauci’s mouth. I’ve largely ignored him because his advice is so inconsistent and his answers to simple questions is dodgy.

Fauci’s congressional testimony about U.S. funding of gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology seems to contradict the facts. It appears that Fauci has not told us the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth about the origins of the virus.

In addition, he gave conflicting advice about the effectiveness of masks on several occasions, including in private emails.

The evidence is overwhelming: Lockdowns didn’t work. States with strict lockdowns fared worse than states that respected individual rights and freedoms. Florida has a dramatically lower COVID death rate than states such as New York and New Jersey. In fact, Florida’s COVID death rate is below the national average.

I don’t trust Fauci. In fact, I think he should be fired. But as this viral video makes clear, millions of Americans not only trust him, they practically worship him.

I don’t know how we got to this point where we live in such different realities, but we view the world differently and live our lives differently. What this means going forward, I’m not sure. I just know I will continue to embrace freedom, individual liberty, and limited government. I will not look to the so-called experts for advice on how to live my life. And I will continue to mock the people in this video who so easily give in to Big Government impulses.
