I think I’m suffering from Energizer Bunny syndrome. You’ve seen the recent commercial for Duracell batteries in which the bunny gets fresh batteries and begins banging his drum, breaking it. Then he throws it in the corner on a pile of broken drums and picks up a new drum and starts banging away again!

I’ve been preaching to the choir on the importance of character and integrity way before I began writing for The Patriot Post. America has struggled with this deficit for a long time.

It was most noticeable, in my opinion, when Bill Clinton became president. A man with no character or integrity, but gifted with personality and charisma, became the leader of the most powerful nation in the world. We have been suffering the consequences ever since.

Barack Obama, and now Joe Biden, are famous for blaming everything that went wrong under their watch on someone else. It’s called “blame-shifting,” and those with addictions are famous for it. Their addiction is not their problem, but someone else’s. “My mother put my Pampers on backwards when I was a child so I have this suppressed hostility that is being manifested in my outward behavior!”

Blame-shifting is sad to see in those with addictions. It’s pathetic to see in the lives of some of the highest officials in the nation. Obama blamed George W. Bush for everything wrong during his time in office. Biden and his minions blame Donald Trump for all of their ills. It’s not their fault, they say; it’s always someone else’s fault. Biden’s excuse for the collapse in Afghanistan is because of the deal Trump left him.

That dog don’t hunt, especially when, in his first month in office, he literally undid everything Trump had accomplished by executive orders. So try again, Joe! Leaders need courage because leading is hard work. When the nation of Israel came out of Egypt and went to the border of the promised land, God spoke to the new leader, Joshua, and three times told him to be strong and courageous! (Joshua 1:6-9).

Leading takes courage, something we have not seen since the collapse of Afghanistan until a career Marine officer laid everything on the line to speak out. A 17-year career infantry officer knew there would be a cost to his speaking out against the lack of moral courage of those above him. Yet he spoke out anyway because courage was demanded for a time such as this.

Everyone involved in this disaster deflected, blame-shifted, or outright lied about what was taking place. We were abandoning an ally and backstabbing NATO while people were dying. From the State Department’s moral midget, Antony Blinken, to Secretary of Defense Lloyd “Arms Dealer” Austin and his sidekick, Gen. Mark “White Rage” Milley, they ducked and weaved, avoiding any responsibility for the nightmare unfolding in Afghanistan.

One man had the courage to sacrifice everything to call out the lack of taking responsibility for what was happening. There were no resignations from any of the corrupt leaders who simply carried out orders that could result in the possible deaths of thousands. That Marine sacrificed his career because he wanted his sons to know that courage, character, and integrity were more important than a pension.

For all of you who voted for Biden, at least there’s no more mean tweets. You can blame Trump, but this is on you!
